After glancing at Alexander, Megan looked away. “Just because I won’t consider marriage in the next five years doesn’t mean I’ll want to get married after five years. I might even not want to for the next ten years…”
Marriage and becoming Mrs. Hunt were never part of her plan.
She did enjoy being with Alexander, but it was only because she preferred his company compared to other men.
It wasn’t as though she needed a man–she could live perfectly well by building her career on her own.

As she was about to say something else, he drove them out of the hospital.
“Alexander…”
“Ten years it is. In ten years, I want to be a dad.”
While Megan was momentarily at a loss for words, Alexander added, “Having kids after ten years is a bit late, but I can accept that.”
“You can find another woman to have your children. There’s no need to wait that long. Besides, you just have to beckon, and all kinds of women would come running.”
“No, I only want my children to be yours.”
Catherine was sleeping in Emily’s arms now that all the noise and people were gone. Holding the delicate, tiny bundle of joy, Emily couldn’t stop smiling. “Our little Catherine is pouting in her sleep. She’s so well–behaved when drinking milk.”

“No can do. She wants her grandma to hold her.‘

“You’ve never held a baby before, so you won’t know how to.”
“I can do it.”
“Nobody should hold her anymore. Put her down The internet says if you hold a baby too much, you won’t be able to put them down later, said Angelina.

“Put her down, Emily. Listen to me and put her down.”

Emily glanced at her little granddaughter in her arms. Though she was reluctant, she eventually placed her back in the crib beside Angelina.
When Chester’s friends came by, they brought various valuable gifts, including jewelry and other valuable items. There was also a pile of beautiful dresses for every age group.
However, none of those caught Angelina’s interest as her eyes were glued to the stack of envelopes they had brought for Catherine, clearly supposed to contain monetary gifts.
Unable to move, Angelina could only lie there. She was lightheaded from hunger and barely holding on.
She took a deep breath, then another. Chester noticed her gaze was fixed on the envelopes.
They didn’t look that thick.
With the baby asleep, Chester asked Isadora to bring Emily outside to rest so that they could have some peace. His eyes were still bloodshot, but they weren’t the least intimidating.
“You don’t need to starve with me. Go get something to eat,” said Angelina.
“I’m not going.”
“Go. I have no choice but to endure hunger, but you don’t need to. Being hungry feels awful.”
“I’m not hungry.”
Angelina wanted to say something else, but her curiosity about the envelopes won out. “Then open those.”
Chester followed her gaze, picked up one of the envelopes, and asked, “You want to see?”
Angelina nodded mechanically. “I want to see how much money is in one.”
Chester opened one of the envelopes, not knowing who had given it. He found that it contained not a single cent.
Angelina’s heart jumped into her throat, but then Chester reached in and said, “Oh, there’s a
card.”
“A bank card? I wonder how much is in it?”
Chester took it out and glanced at it. “A card like this typically has a limit. The max this card
can contain is two million dollars.”
What? Two million?
If it really was two million, wouldn’t she be incredibly rich if one card had two million?
She had already made a hefty profit selling off those bags and clothes, becoming the wealthiest person in her family in one leap. With this sum of money, it would only further cement her status as a rich woman.
