Chapter 93
Although Emily wasn’t home, she was concerned that the two might starve at home. So, she requested Florence to deliver some breakfast to them in the morning.
Florence’s cooking was amazing, and even Emily learned from her.
When Chester woke up, he saw the pancakes and oatmeal that Florance made, which were kept warm in a pot. Then, he left for his morning exercise and returned soon after.
“Chester, I made extra pancakes. If you and Angelina can’t finish them, take them to work and microwave them later.”
“Thank you.”
“It’s no problem. Angelina is home alone during the day, right? I’ll make something for her during lunch.”
“That won’t be necessary. She’ll be coming with me to the company.‘
“Okay. But do come over for dinner once you’re back from work. Don’t be a stranger.”
Florence smiled as she placed the pancakes on the table. “Don’t hesitate, alright?”
After Chester closed the door, he went to the room only to find Angelina curled on the bed like, a caterpillar.
Still somewhat sweaty from his workout, he washed his hands and stood nearby.
The drapes were partially drawn, allowing soft light to filter into the room. The woman on the bed furrowed her brows lightly as if disturbed by the brightness.
His muscles were stiff as he had just finished exercising. He reached out and caressed her small face which was soft and bouncy.
Memories of the previous night flashed through his mind. Her long hair brushed against his chest, her delicate gasps, and how he’d pinned her against the headboard.
The thought brought a smile to his face, and he leaned down to kiss Angeline softly on the lips.
When Chester got out of the shower, she was already awake. She didn’t want to wake up because the previous night was too intense, but she didn’t want to keep being in her postpartum recovery state as she needed to return to her usual routine.
Angelina sat on the bed, awake but motionless, staring blankly into space. She didn’t pick up her phone or blink much as she sat silently still as if lost in thoughts.
Meanwhile, what Chester saw after walking out of the shower was Angelina in her pajamas, her neckline slightly askew, her hair a little messy as she sat on the bed in a daze.
Chapter 93
He dried himself off and walked over to sit beside her.
She looked up, her eyes clear and bright. “Morning.”
“It’s not morning anymore. Get up and apply your medicine.”
“Huh?”
“Medicine.” His gaze dropped to her legs, which were crossed on the bed. She followed his gaze and immediately turned red when she realized he wasn’t just looking at her legs.
“I can do it myself.” Angelina’s cheeks flushed.
“Let me help. You might not be able to see it properly.”
“I can see it just fine.”
“Better than I can?”
Flustered, Angeline punched him lightly. “Chester, why are you suddenly like this?”
He hadn’t been so shameless before as he was always a gentleman.
Seeing her shy reaction only amused him further. “I’m responsible for what happened, so I’ll take care of you until you’re fully healed.”
“I’m an adult! I can take care of myself!”
“Be good.”
Before she could protest further, he leaned in and silenced her with a kiss. Angelina had no defense against his kisses.
After a brief struggle, her mind went blank. She didn’t even realize his hand had moved until
she felt the cool sensation of medicine. Snapping back to her senses, she pushed him away and quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself.
