Chapter 1
The night my sister, Nicole Davis, got engaged to my boyfriend, Isaac Wilson, my life took a dark turn.
I was attacked in my own home, brutally assaulted, and stabbed seventeen times.
With the last bit of strength I had, I managed to call my mom,
Alexis Davis.
On the other end, she screamed, “Amelia Davis, all we wanted was a kidney and for you to let Isaac be with Nicole. You didn’t even come to her engagement party. Don’t ever think about coming back home!”
The call abruptly ended.
Well, they got their wish. I wouldn’t be coming back home.
Because I was dead.
I died that night, raped and dismembered while Nicole and Isaac celebrated their engagement.
Two weeks later, Caleb and Alexis pounded on the door of my
apartment.
My landlord, Owen Carter, stepped out. “Stop knocking. The girl who lived here is long dead!”

They didn’t believe him. “She’s hiding just to avoid donating her kidney to Nicole! We raised her for nothing!”
“I’ve never seen parents like you. Your daughter is dead, and
you’re still cursing her!” Owen felt sorry for me and shoved a small box of my belongings into their arms.
It wasn’t much, just a tiny box.
Caleb and Alexis took the box, looking disgusted. They tried calling me several times, and when I didn’t answer, they left, cursing me under their breath.
And me? I was floating above, my spirit tethered to them, following their every move.
Back home, Nicole and Isaac came over. He was Nicole’s fiancé
now.
Nicole put on her innocent act, “Amelia still hasn’t shown up? It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t needed her kidney or fallen for Isaac, she wouldn’t be so upset!”
“She’s just being selfish! Giving you a kidney wouldn’t kill her. Does she want to see you die?” Alexis fumed.
“Yeah, she’s always been manipulative and mean, even trying to steal Isaac from Nicole. We spoiled her too much!” Caleb angrily tossed my box of belongings into a corner.
Isaac just glanced at me and said, “I fell for you because I

couldn’t stand Amelia’s selfishness and cruelty. I love your

kindness and simplicity. Amelia is the one at fault here, not you. Don’t take all the blame on yourself.”
The whole family gathered around Nicole, taking the opportunity to criticize me.
I felt numb, like my soul was floating above, not wanting to
argue anymore.
Caleb and Alexis always favored Nicole. They only wanted her, and I was the unexpected extra.
I was born right when Caleb’s startup failed and Alexis got laid off due to her pregnancy. My birth turned their once wealthy life upside down.
They blamed all their misfortunes on me. They never wanted another child, and my arrival brought so much trouble that Caleb and Alexis grew to dislike me even more.
Nicole was their cherished daughter.
And me? I was the unwanted one.
They always showered Nicole with too much love, while dumping all the problems on me.
To Caleb and Alexis, I was selfish and malicious. They believed even looking at me would bring them bad luck.
Isaac and I had been together since college.

Back then, he held my hand and said he’d never met a girl like. me, always so skittish, like a frightened deer ready to bolt at any sound.
Isaac promised to make me feel safe, to always be by my side.
But everything changed the first time I brought him home and he saw Nicole.
At the dinner table, Nicole whispered in my ear, “Amelia, I like Isaac. Just like Mom and Dad, from now on, he’s mine!”
Nicole, with her usual innocent and fragile act, and with their help, quickly won Isaac over.
In their stories, I was the scheming, malicious one who did terrible things since childhood.
And Nicole? She was the pure, kind–hearted girl who always suffered under my tyranny and yet still cared about me.
But all those things were her doing, and she framed me.
I always remember, when I was eight, Nicole whispered fiercely in my ear, “Amelia, why were you even born? If it weren’t for you, I’d be the only child in this family! From now on, I’m taking everything from you, even our parents!”
Then she smashed Alexis’s bracelet and ran out crying, blaming
me for it.
Chapter 1
It happened so many times.
At first, I kept trying to defend myself, but eventually, I just went silent because no one ever believed me.
Then I met Isaac, and I thought he might be my savior.

But I didn’t expect him to frown and say, “Amelia, Nicole is your sister and she’s sick. Can’t you stop being so cruel to her?”
Seeing the marks Nicole had made on her own arm, I stayed
silent.
No one would believe me, not even Isaac.
Nicole was perfect. She was frail, sweet, and innocent–a pure little angel.
And I was the evil, selfish one, narrow–minded and despised by
everyone.
After Nicole took Isaac from me, I moved out to protest silently.
I didn’t expect that after more than a month, no one had even. noticed I was gone.
As long as they had Nicole, my parents didn’t care if I was there.
or not.
It wasn’t until Nicole got sick and urgently needed a kidney that they remembered me, who was also their biological daughter.
