Chapter 11
Hearing this, Diana felt desperate.
She still couldn’t understand why everything she did only made things worse.
Stephen’s words and accusations cut into her heart like knives.
Yet, rather than feeling sad, she was overwhelmed with guilt, wishing she could make it up to him with her life if she could.
After all, everything that happened today was her own doing.
“Do you really not want me anymore?”
Stephen left the plane ticket and disappeared from her sight without looking back.
“Stephen doesn’t want me anymore. He really doesn’t want me…”
Diana wanted to chase after him, but his words stopped her–she had to go back home.
She had done too many wrong things; if she didn’t listen now, she’d have no chance left at all.
Dealing with the breakup left her feeling lost.
For half a month, she barely slept.
Before, at least, she could still see him; now, she could only look at his photos and yearn.
Every day, she prayed, wondering how she could win someone’s heart back.
To keep up with Stephen’s life, she went to see Benjamin every few days.
“Why are you here again? Aren’t you tired of this?”
Benjamin had just finished work when he saw her waiting by his car door.
“Please, please put in a good word for me with Stephen. Only you can help me now.”
Looking at her disheveled appearance, Benjamin sneered.
“Haven’t we tried to help you enough?”
“Stephen gave you so many chances, and did you ever cherish any of them?”
Hearing this, Diana suddenly realized.
Every time she’d gone back to their home, she’d find it emptier.
Every time she’d chosen to defend Stephen, maybe he wouldn’t have felt so hopeless.
Stephen, after all, was a man with feelings.
He wanted her to choose him wholeheartedly too.
How sad he must have been when he was trapped in that burning car.
“What’s wrong? Can’t say anything now?”
Benjamin pointed at her, grinding his teeth as he yelled.
“Do you know why you never noticed any of this? Because you were too busy getting cozy with that little boy toy of yours to care about Stephen!”
“And now you’re hurting because you’ve lost him? Who are you trying to fool?”
Diana shook her head, flustered. “It’s not like that, Wayne is just my junior…”
“Still making excuses?”
Benjamin exploded in anger.
“You left Stephen for that ‘junior.‘ You risked your life for that ‘junior.‘ You even changed your major for that ‘junior‘!”
“If you like him so much, then go be with him! Why are you still clinging to Stephen?”
“People like you, juggling two relationships, deserve a good slap! Stephen showed you restraint, and that’s more than you deserved.”
Diana felt a jolt of realization hit her.
Only now, seeing things from Stephen’s perspective, did she realize just how terribly wrong she had been.
After a long silence, waiting until Benjamin was done yelling, she finally spoke up.
“Tell Stephen to take me off his blocklist. I just want to make one last call.”
To help his friend get free from her, Benjamin agreed.
On the other end, Stephen had just finished his work and was sitting down with a cup of tea.

Chapter 11
After Benjamin’s repeated assurances, he removed Diana from his blocklist.
“One minute.”
He spoke in a calm tone.
“Alright.”
Diana didn’t waste any time. She began apologizing, going over everything from his last birthday, not leaving out a single detail.
At the end, she spoke with determination.
“Stephen, I understand that you can’t forgive me right now.”
“So, just wait for me. I’ll cut ties with Wayne completely; I promise I won’t disappoint you.”
She still believed that the reason Stephen stopped loving her was because of Wayne.
As long as she cut ties with Wayne, she thought they could get back together.
