Seeing the figure on the bed breathing evenly with her eyes still closed, Nick let out a sigh of relief, slipped under the blanket and held her tightly.

For the next few days, he continued the same routine. It seemed the bionic robot’s ‘forgiveness‘ had emboldened him.
I shook my head, once again thankful for my decisive exit. Cheating is not a mistake that happens just once, it becomes a pattern. Once someone has tasted it, how could they easily let it go?
These days, after Nick left for work, the bionic robot stayed indoors rather than going out as usual. The backend data made it clear: she was preparing to file for divorce.

displayed the face of a woman, it was Yvonne.
The bionic robot opened the door and Yvonne greeted her with a mocking smile, “Mrs. Hemsworth, you sure have some patience. Knowing your husband is cheating and still not filing for divorce? I heard you’re an orphan, abandoned by your parents. Is it because you’re scared that after divorcing Nick, you’ll have nowhere to go?”
“Lucky for you, I have a million here. Take it, divorce him and leave.” She threw a bank card disdainfully onto the floor and proudly straightened her posture, subtly emphasizing her stomach and sneered, “Oh, by the way, I’m carrying Nick’s child.”
“You’re an orphan, wouldn’t you hate to see an innocent child grow up without a father? I don’t want my child to end up like you, being laughed at and bullied for being a fatherless bastard. Surely you wouldn’t. want another to go through what you did,

Her arrogant and condescending look was eerily similar to those who bullied me back in the day. She even regurgitated details of my childhood torment, details I had only shared with Nick in moments of
vulnerability.
I smiled bitterly and shook my head. The painful memories I had confided in Nick had now become weapons for his mistress to use against me.
The bionic robot, however, did not react as Yvonne had anticipated. She neither
showed sorrow nor anger, but instead looked at her calmly and said, “Miss Chadwick, do you take pride in being a home–wrecker? You have parents, yet they failed to teach you basic manners. Honestly, you’re more like an orphan.”
“Oh, wait. Even orphans have morals, but you? You’re utterly shameless. And you’re worried about your child being insulted? There’s no need for others to call your child

illegitimate, it’s already cursed by having a mother as disgraceful as you,” she continued.
Yvonne’s face turned bright red with anger, her chest heaving violently and she shouted, “You … how dare you! You’re so uncultured! How can you insult me like this?”
The bionic robot responded as if it was the most natural thing in the world, “Well, you came here begging to be insulted. I’m simply granting your wish.”
Just as Yvonne opened her mouth to retort, the elevator chimed and Nick’s voice rang out, “Helen, what’s going on here?”
Yvonne’s eyes glinted maliciously. She grabbed the bionic robot’s hand and deliberately stumbled backward, aiming to fall toward Nick as he stepped out of the elevator. “Nick, my stomach hurts so much!” she cried.

But Nick deftly sidestepped her and rushed straight to the bionic robot, wrapping her protectively in his arms and asked, “Helen, are you okay? Did this crazy woman hurt you?”
Yvonne landed hard on the ground, completely stunned. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Nick. “Nick, she pushed me! I’m in so much pain!” she shouted.
Nick shielded the bionic robot behind him and glared at Yvonne with a frightening intensity, “What nonsense are you
spouting? What does your pain have to do with me?”
Yvonne looked utterly bewildered and asked, “Nick, didn’t you tell me to keep the baby?”
