Chapter 6
Two days before the wedding, Miley, an intern I had helped, sent me a secretly recorded video.
In the video, Henry was pointing at the HR staff, cursing loudly.
“I transferred Cynthia to the branch, didn’t I? But how could she just disappear? How do you people do your jobs?”
The HR employee stood trembling, looking miserable. “I asked Cynthia. She said she wasn’t going to the branch. Her contract happened to expire, so she went through the resignation process.”
“Resignation?” Henry seemed unable to accept this news, his body trembling as he staggered back, then was caught by Annie.
“So she’s no longer working at Williams Group, and no one knows where she went?“.
Everyone held their breath, not daring to speak. Henry threw the documents in his hand at the HR employee’s head.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
The HR employee covered his head, glanced at Annie, and said aggrievedly, “Ms. Crawford told me not to. She said Cynthia wasn’t important. Her resignation didn’t need to be reported to you. And that you were tired of Cynthia and never wanted to see

her again. That it would be just what you wanted.”

Henry turned around and, in front of everyone, slapped Annie, knocking her to the ground.
“Did you stop her? Who allowed you to make decisions on my behalf?”
Annie grabbed his pants leg, crying.
Henry kicked her away forcefully, showing no trace of affection for Annie.
“Cynthia isn’t important? Are you important to me?
“Do you know how many of our top clients are under Cynthia?
“What can you do besides sleeping with men? I’m giving you one week to get the client data from Williams Group. If you can’t do it, get lost.”
Annie looked at him in disbelief, too shocked to even get up.
After watching the video, I cursed from the bottom of my heart, “What a scumbag.”
Miley then sent a message: [Cynthia, Mr. Williams seems to know your address. He booked a flight to Kingston.]
I frowned, feeling really annoyed.
