CHAPTER 17
ARIA’S POV
When Regis and I reach the event, I can’t fail to notice that Regis‘ team has truly outdone themselves, meticulously crafting every detail to perfection.
The air is alive with an electric energy, pulsating with anticipation and excitement. The venue itself is an architectural marvel; a seamless blend of modern elegance and timeless charm. As I enter, I am greeted by the soft glow of twinkling fairy lights, casting a warm and inviting aura over the space. The room is bathed in a soft, golden hue, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and luxury.
My eyes sweep across the room, taking in the exquisite décor that surrounds us. Lush floral arrangements adorn every corner, their vibrant colors adding a touch of natural beauty to the elegant surroundings. The tables are adorned with delicate linens and sparkling crystal ware, reflecting the light in a dazzling display of opulence.
Frankly speaking, I am in awe. However, there is mixed emotions coursing through me. I have never been in such a place before in my entire life and never has Adam deem me fit to be taken to such parties, except those we organize from work for the company and it is more like a team–building rather than making connections with the outside business world..
Today, I am stepping into another world, with Regis leading me.
“1-1. Gosh!” I mumble.
Sensing my hesitation to take further steps, Regis hold me by the hand, “You’ll get used to it.. Just take a deep breath and blend in.”
As I glance down at myself, I can’t help but marvel at the stunning dress Stella has designed for me. The fabric drapes gracefully around my figure, hugging my curves in all the right places. The sleek silhouette and classic black color exude sophistication and confidence, making me feel like the belle of the ball, except here it is not a ball.
As I mingle with the other guests, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride and gratitude. Thanks to Regis and his team, tonight promises to be a night to remember–one filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories. And as I raise a glass to toast to the evening ahead, I know that I’m exactly where I am meant to be; surrounded by loved ones, in a place that feels like home.
The ladies look so fine in their attires and the necklace they wear must be costing a fortune. It is an honour for me to be around them.
“Thanks, Regis,” I thank him once we are alone in the corner of the hall.
“You’re most welcome, Aria.”
“I appreciate your support and guidance. I wish to stand on my feet and stay content.”
“To me, you’re a phoenix rising from the ashes and I believe in you. I have heard a lot about you doing an Incredible job at the firm. They say you’re the best,” Regis praises.
“Thank
you so much. Coming from a business troon like you, I feel elated,” I say humbly.
We are talking until Regis is wanted by the other guests.
I continue enjoying a sumptuous Champagne and hors d’oeuvres until I spot Adam’s sister, Eva. Great! I can never be at peace or be happy for some time. There always has to be something.
I see Eva smirking and approaching me. I try to avold her, but she catches me in time and blocks my way.

“What do you want?!” I roll my eyes.
If she thinks that I am scared of her then she is wrong. I am not letting Adam or any member of his family trample. over me. I believe I have been quite tolerant.
“Look who is stranded at the elite party!”
I try to move to the other side so that I can get away, but she blocks my way again.
“Would you look at that? What are you wearing? Since when have you started dressing like that? It doesn’t look branded. Who stitched it for you?
I know that she has never seen me wearing a one–shoulder shimmer dress, hugging my figure, revealing my long thighs. She cannot conceal her disappointment, yet she is trying to daunt me like she used to do in the past. I stare at her with contempt, but she is waiting for a reply and I know that without an answer, she will not budge. “This dress has been tailored especially for me by a famous Indie designer!” I finally respond.
Eva frowns, folds her arms over her chest and sneers.
“Famous Indie designer?!” Her irritating laugh resonates in my ear making me want to slap her on
face.
I simply nod with pride.
“May I know who is this unlucky Indie designer who had to design your dress?!”
“Stella Newton… You must have heard about her?!”
Now it is my turn to chuckle.
