“Ah!!! Leo, you’re a monster!” I squirmed desperately until I felt like my hair was about to be pulled out of my scalp but despite that, I could not free myself from his clutches.
“Three, two, one! I’ve given you a chance and you won’t take it. In that case, I’m not going to hold back anymore. Take all of this down!”
He yelled while briskly shoving me to the ground. Then, he ordered his bodyguards to destroy the miniature castle we had built. Helena and the other staff members tried to stop them but ended up getting beaten.
After the castle was torn down, Leo’s phone rang. He shot me a look before answering it in front of me. “Mike, did you find out anything about when Dianne got discharged from the hospital?”
The person on the other end of the phone dragged a long sigh before stating, “Sir, your daughter passed away two days ago.”
Leo suddenly turned to stone. He fixed a look on me and became silent.

After a moment passed, he roared into the phone “Are you trying to mess with me too?! How much money has Clarice offered you to get you to work with her? Dianne sent me an email just this morning, and you’re trying to tell me that she’s dead?”
His assistant, Mike, was frightened and tried to muster an explanation. “Sir, I wouldn’t dare to lie to you. The truth is that Dianne died from kidney failure because of malnutrition after the surgery. It happened on the same day Miss Rosette was discharged from the hospital. It was your wife who had her cremated…”
Leo decided he could not bear to hear any more details and immediately hung up. He was at a loss.
When Rosette tugged at the corner of his clothes, he managed to regain some sense of composure. Despite that, he was still in denial. He asked me again in a trembling voice, “That can’t be true, can it? Surely, my daughter is still alive, is she?”
The thought of my daughter dying in agony from the pain caused by kidney failure made my heart twist into a knot. It was suffocating just to think about it. I chuckled dryly at Leo and mocked him, “Are you still in denial even at this point? I already told you from the beginning that our daughter is dead… dead!
“You were the one who refused to believe me! Haha, as if that wasn’t bad enough, you even brought this witch over here with you to ruin what was supposed to be our daughter’s birthday. Look what you did to her ashes, hahaha… Leo, you sure are a wonderful father!”
Leo’s pupils shrank into pinpricks. He started to look at the ashes scattered all over the floor and shuddered violently upon realizing what they were.
His voice trembled. “These, these are Dianne’s ashes… I–I scattered her ashes…” ·
I lost my mind at this point and started pummeling him. “You’re a sick monster! If you had just paid the slightest bit of attention to her and hired a nurse for her, none of this would have happened!
“You knew I wouldn’t agree to her donating her kidney to Rosette. That’s why you did everything you could to send me away to take care of your crippled mother! After that, you talked Dianne into donating her kidney, didn’t you?
“You knew she wouldn’t have the heart to say no to you. That’s why you had the surgery done on short notice while I was away, wasn’t it?
“Do you know what she said to me before she died? She asked me if you would stay in the family now that she has saved Rosette. Even as she was dying, she was trying to hold onto you! Look what you’ve done to her!
“You left her alone in the ward and ruined her birthday ceremony, then you went and accused her of undermining your mistress! You scattered her ashes!”
Leo looked completely distraught.

“You killed my daughter! You’ll have to pay for it”
Leo seemed completely out of it. He let me hit him as much as I wanted to so I could vent at
last.
However, when I tried to strike Rosette, the bodyguards surrounding her kept me away. No matter how much I lashed out at them, they shoved me away every time.
At last, Leo said weakly, “Clarice, just take it out on me. Leave Rosette out of it. She’s sick.”
