Chapter 128
The next day, Audrey returned to work.
She took a day off and Albert was still complaining about it.
Audrey ignored his sarcastic mockery. She did not want to see him, so she took her documents and went home to work.
The mall project with Brightview Group had officially started. As Party B’s representative, Audrey still had to supervise it at the construction site tomorrow. She didn’t have the time to deal with Albert.
After a busy day, Trevor called Audrey for dinner.
The Harper family’s rented house was also close. Audrey was too lazy to cook alone, so she did not refuse.
After dinner, the family went to the nearby park for a walk.
Thinking that Audrey still had work the next day, they did not force her to stay and let her go back to rest early.
Audrey returned to her and Alistair’s house alone.
When she was with her parents and brothers, she felt lively and didn’t feel lonely.
However, when she returned home and looked at the empty house, she suddenly felt unaccustomed.
Sighing, she put on her slippers and threw herself onto the soft sofa.
As soon as she sat down, the phone rang.
The moment she saw the caller ID, Audrey could not help but feel secretly happy.
The corners of her lips curled up slightly. She sat cross–legged and subconsciously wanted to answer the call.
However, just as the call was about to connect, she hesitated again.
She felt she shouldn’t answer this call..
‘Alistair has someone he likes. He came to me because the person he loved had passed away, Audrey thought.
She felt she shouldn’t be addicted to it.
Only by keeping her heart would she not end up with a sad ending.
However, even though her mind was clear, she still could not control her heart.
She would unconsciously fall for it as long as Alistair said something nice.
She would blush and her heart would race because of his unintentional teasing.
She was afraid that one day, she would completely fall into the gentle cage Alistair made for her, and he would leave without hesitation.
That would be too miserable…
Afraid that his voice would sway her again, Audrey did not pick up the call.
She only sent a message after the ringtone quieted down. [I’m about to sleep. We’ll talk tomorrow if there’s anything.]
In the empty top–floor office, Alistair instinctively frowned when he saw the message from Audrey.
He knew her routine. It was only eight o’clock in the evening. She wouldn’t go to bed so early.
‘So, she didn’t want to answer my call and found an excuse to say she was already asleep… Alistair thought.
He wondered if she was still angry with him for hiding his identity.
However, two days ago, she took the initiative to call to show concern for Sunny. She did not seem to be angry.
‘Did I do something wrong again to make her unhappy?‘ Alistair’s heart was in a mess. No matter how he thought about it, he could not understand why Audrey was angry.
This was more difficult for him than negotiating a business worth tens of billions of dollars.

Chapter 128
Just as he was having a headache, there was a knock on the door.
It was his assistant.
“Come in,” said Alistair.
Upon hearing Alistair’s cold voice, Michael Cooper took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
“Mr. Hayes.” Before he spoke, the smile on his face was flawless. “I’ve already obtained the contact information of the world’s most famous child psychologist, Ausline, but the other party’s phone hasn’t been turned on. I can’t locate her exact location for the time being.”
Alistair’s brows were already tightly knitted. His slender fingers gently tapped on the table, and he said with a dignified aura, “Continue to think of a way. We have to contact the other party as soon as possible. Sunny can’t wait long.”
“Okay.” Michael nodded.
“It’s getting late. You can get off work.”
Michael heaved a sigh of relief when he heard that. The smile on his face widened. “Alright.”
Today, he finally did not have to stand his girlfriend up anymore. If he stood her up again, he would be dumped.
“Wait,” Alistair suddenly said.
Michael had just turned around when he heard his boss’s voice coming from behind.
Thinking of his monthly salary of 250 thousand dollars, he turned around with a smile. “Mr. Hayes, do you have any other instructions?”
“It’s not about work.” Alistair supported his chin with one hand and asked with interest, “I heard you have a girlfriend whom you’ve been dating for six years.”
Michael was surprised. ‘What did that mean? Dating shouldn’t be against the company’s rules, right?‘
Alistair had never asked him about private matters in the past, and Michael had never affected his work because of his relationship all these years.
Michael’s heart was beating wildly. He was about to explain when Alistair continued, “Since you’ve dated for so long, you should be more experienced. How do you usually coax your girlfriend when she’s angry?”
Michael was shocked.
