In my past life, those three had taken my life and stolen my children. Why hadn’t I ever thought about revenge since I was reborn?!
I felt hatred, yes. But more than that, it was fear, hesitation, and a sense of inferiority.
But now, the situation was different from my past life. We weren’t powerless. We could still go up against Sophie.
I clenched Claire’s hand, a newfound resolve hardening within me. “We can help her win!”
Zoey and Xavier’s romance played out exactly like the script I had seen before–studying together in the library, eating in the cafeteria, attending public lectures, sending out drones on her birthday…
Meanwhile, Claire and I had been gathering information on Sophie, looking for any weaknesses we could use to tip the odds in our favor.
And it worked.
We found something.
After hosting the school’s sports meet, Sophie was approached by a heavily tattooed middle- aged man. The moment she saw him, her face paled with fear, but she didn’t cause a scene. Instead, she pulled him into the sports equipment room.

Claire and I followed them discreetly, trailing then into a secluded corner.
The tattooed man had a fierce look on his face, and his demeanor was dangerous.
“My dear niece, do you remember me?” he asked, his voice low and threatening. “I heard you’re now the campus belle, and you’re dating the heir of the Lewis family. Looks like you’re going to marry into a rich family after graduation.”
The man went on, “If it weren’t for me laying the groundwork for you, would you have this chance? Back then, I worked with your dad to kidnap the Lewis brothers. I took the fall for 12 years and just got out. Now your dad’s all high and mighty, and he’s got bodyguards following him around. He’s untouchable, so I can only turn to you.”
He paused for a moment, his gaze growing more intense. “I don’t want much. Just the money you owe me. I did 12 years behind bars. Give me a hundred grand a year–1.2 million in total.”
He smiled darkly. “For someone like you, that’s probably nothing, right?”
Sophie wasn’t phased by the man’s words.
“I’ll have my dad contact you,” she said dismissively. “But Uncle Hank, you messed up back then and stabbed me. Because of you, I’ll never be able to have children. How do we settle that score?”
The two of them kept bickering.
Claire subtly shook her phone, signaling to me that she had recorded everything.
We quietly slipped away.
I was stunned- the kidnapping incident that brought the Reed and Lewis families together was actually planned by Sophie’s father!
So, it wasn’t the brave little girl standing up after all. From the very beginning, it was all part of Edward’s scheme to sell his daughter for glory!
What would the Lewis family think if they found out the truth?
After Claire and I showed the video to Zoey, she still urged us to hold off.
“I’m still missing leverage for negotiations with the Lewis family,” she said.
I glanced at her and tacitly asked, “A child?”
Zoey nodded.
So, we decided–let Sophie, the campus belle, have her way a little longer.
