Mitchell didn’t even realize the call had ended. He kept apologizing, pleading with the silence.
“I really know I was wrong, and I promise I’ll never touch another woman besides Heather. Please, just tell me where she is…”
When he tried calling Susan back, he realized he had been blocked again:
In a frenzy, Mitchell screamed in frustration, pounding his fists into the ground, his skin tearing, blood staining the floor. He didn’t seem to feel the pain, punishing himself over and over again.
He had no idea how much time had passed, but the sound of the door opening snapped him. back to reality.
