Vanessa’s face flushed with anger, her expression shifting between red and pale as she processed Heather’s words. When she saw Mitchell weakly leaning against the wall, she immediately stopped arguing and rushed toward him.
Heather glanced back once, then placed her hand in Colin’s, and together they walked away, leaving Kennethville behind.
From that moment on, Heather had nothing to do with Mitchell anymore.
It was Colin’s first time in Kennethville, and Heather took him around the city, showing him the sights. They also stopped to meet Susan, making plans for her to visit Buleesia in the future before they left Kennethville and headed back to Buleesia.

Chapter 23
As the plane touched down in Buleesia again, Heather felt a wave of relief wash over her, a sense of freedom she hadn’t realized she’d been missing.
Heather had first met Colin when she came to Bresla. She had been looking for a place to rent, almost falling for a scam until Colin stepped in to stop it. He had then helped her find a legitimate place to stay.
After that, they became friends, meeting occasionally for meals, and gradually growing closer. Eventually, Colin confessed his feelings, and Heather, almost naturally, accepted.
Some people might think it was cold of Heather to start a new relationship just two months after breaking up with Mitchell.
But none of that mattered to her.
As Colin had said, running away would only bring more problems. Facing her fears was the best way to conquer them.
Heather never doubted the sincerity of love, but she knew that true feelings could change in the blink of an eye.
She wouldn’t deny Mitchell’s sincerity back then, nor would she deny Colin’s sincerity now. She had the courage to walk away decisively when she realized Mitchell had changed, and now she had the courage to embrace another person’s heartfelt love.
