Please My Darling, Marry Me Again
Chapter 6: Fine, Let’s Talk
Nurse Maddie opened the door with some worry, “Are you okay?”
I asked pale–faced, “Can I not take another round of IV if I say I’m not okay?”
“No, you can’t.”
“…Then I’m okay.”

Since then, Tristan didn’t appear before me again, and I passed another week peacefully.
Joyce still came to visit me, although we couldn’t speak many words, afraid that one of them would touch each other’s pain, but it was still harmonious.
I always hoped she could sneak me some “junk” food, but it was always discovered by Maddie and confiscated.
I was speechless.
Lunar New Year was getting closer and closer, and Maddie complained me, “It’s getting colder and colder!”
I laughed, “Winter is coming.”
I sighed and counted the time, I had to go back to the ward on

time when I was out in the wind, or else I would be scolded by Maddie.
When I turned around with too much force, I bumped into someone. After my head was dizzy and my eyes were blurred, I apologized, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Rubbing my forehead, I walked past him, but he pulled me back with his hand.
“Abigale!” Tristan’s face appeared in front of me again. If it weren’t so cold, I really wanted to slap him.
“What are you doing!” I glared at him without fear.
He didn’t look as handsome as last time, his face was stubbled, and his face was very haggard.
“What happened Tristan? We divorced for only a few days and you went bankrupt? Your little lover dumped you?”
I sarcastically teased him, strangely, he didn’t refute me, but just stood there and looked at me.
I shivered and glanced at him, then I walked into the house.
“Abby.”
I jumped back in surprise, “Why are you calling me that!”
It had been a long time since he had called me like that and the unfamiliar tone made my heart race.

His eyes flashed with embarrassment, “Why didn’t you tell me you were sick?”
My head was full of questions, “What does it have to do with you?”
We both fell silent.
“At least we used to be married, I deserve to know don’t you think?”
I coldly snorted and looked at him, “No, no, don’t talk about a husband and wife relationship. The thing I regret most in my life is having feelings for you. Let’s just stick to what we said at the beginning – I’ll leave LA and you can live your life without bothering me!”
I turned and walked away, but Tristan didn’t leave. He just followed me.
I couldn’t sleep well that night and remembered today was Maddie’s shift. I decided to take my IV drip and walk out.
Just as I opened the door, I was startled by the figure curled up on the long chair to the left.
I only made out it was Tristan’s face when I went around and saw it in the moonlight.
I kicked him awake without any politeness, “What are you doing here?”

He wasn’t angry when he woke up, just looked at me and asked, “Where are you going? Are you not feeling well?”
My throat tightened and I snapped, “I’m fine everywhere as long as you disappear from my sight.”
He touched his face with his hand and said, “I’m not leaving, I finally found you.”
“What do you want from me?”
He didn’t answer, I didn’t want to keep arguing with him while standing.
“Leave now or I’ll file a restraining order!”
I said this and rushed away to watch a TV drama with Maddie in the nurse station.
During the commercial break, Maddie came close to me and said, “That man has been standing outside your door for a long time but he doesn’t go in.”
I guessed it was when I was sleeping this afternoon, so I shooed him away thinking he had left but it turns out he came back.
“Ignore him, he’ll leave soon.”
At home there was warmth, at work there was progress, but I only had cold words for him; a man who cared so much for himself wouldn’t stay long.

“He asked for your medical records…”
I pursed my lips without saying anything.

“I didn’t give it to him, but other people might. He said he was your husband.”
I was taken aback, “This is a misunderstanding, this needs to be clarified! We are exes! Ex–spouses! I think he’s just here for the money, I got a lot during our divorce settlement.”
Maddie immediately grew vigilant, looking behind me warily, “What are you doing in here!”
I almost had a heart attack when I turned around and yelled, “What are you doing following me!”
Tristan gave me a cold look and said, “I’m not here for money.”
I sighed and looked up at the ceiling, “It’s not about the money,
then what is it?”
I could only pull him back to my room and sit cross–legged on
the bed to talk to him.
