The craft enthusiast who helped Niamh assemble the space fortress had warned her that the large structure could easily collapse once the box was opened.
They specifically told Niamh to handle it with extreme care as any damage would be her responsibility.
Beau nodded earnestly, placing his trust in Niamh
Bridget, however, spoke sternly. “Ms. Jones, you can’t do this! Beau’s craft project hasn’t been displayed or voted on yet, so giving him a spot on stage is unfair to the other children!”
Niamh responded with a carefree laugh. “Do you know Madam Fisher is a board member of this kindergarten? Or that Beau’s father is coming to the auditorium today to hear Beau’s speech?”
Beau’s eyes lit up instantly. “Daddy is coming to school?”
Bambi could hear Beau’s excited voice while sitting in her seat, and her heart skipped a beat. Her own eyes brightened as well.
“Daddy’s so busy with work–why would he come to school” Beau asked in disbelief.
Niamh grinned smugly. “If I tell him to come, do you think he’d dare not show up?”
“Niamh, you’re amazing!” Beau’s eyes shone with admiration as he looked at her.
Standing confidently with one hand on her hip, Niamh cast a dismissive glance at Bridget. “Do as I said. That’s the only way to make the recording in the auditorium perfect.
“If Beau Fisher doesn’t win first place, let’s see how you explain that to the school board!”
Bridget had no choice. She didn’t dare cross Beau, nor could the other parents. They were always careful to keep their children in line around Beau.
The grand auditorium was filled with parents of the kindergarten’s oldest students. Most of them were mothers who were dressed elegantly, even adorned in fine jewelry.
The wealthy ladies sat together, whispering about their children, husbands, and their latest purchases–designer items, auctioned antiques, and rare jewels.
“Beau’s mommy, you’re dressed so modestly today!”
Several of the elite mothers approached Elara as their eyes discreetly scanned her from head to toe. One observant woman quickly noticed the absence of Elara’s wedding ring.
Everyone knew Elara was the mother of twins, but they all operated under the assumption that only the boy truly mattered.
Elara was seldom addressed as “Bambi’s mom“-most called her “Mrs. Fisher” or “Beau’s mom“.
“I’ve divorced Harvey Fisher,” Elara stated calmly.
An invisible silence radiated outward the moment she spoke, halting all conversation within a six–foot radius.
One of the women was trying to maintain her composure, and she visibly struggled to keep her expression in
check.
Elara continued, “I’m no longer Beau’s mom. I’m just Bamid’s mom now.”

“Ah… I see…” One of the socialites who was initially eager to chat instinctively took a step back.
“Why did you get divorced? That’s so brave of you!”
“Will your daughter transfer to a different school now?”
Elara shook her head. “I have no plans to transfer Bambi for the time being.”
“Looks like Mr. Fisher is quite generous for still covering Bambi’s tuition,” someone remarked.
Some parents deliberately avoided Elara, and they simply whispered among themselves.
“Why would she divorce Harvey Fisher? She must be crazy!!
“Mr. Fisher is such a respectable man. Elara must have walked away with a fortune from the Fisher family‘
“But what’s the point of a massive settlement? She only joed this social circle by marrying into the Fisher family!” one parent said while shaking her head.
“Taking her daughter with her will only hurt the child. Ten, 20 years from now, when Bambi realizes the class divide between her and Beau, she’ll end up resenting her mother!”
“She clearly has no idea what real hardship is,” another parent chimed in.
Elara sat quietly, and she simply tuned out the murmurs around her. Suddenly, someone exclaimed with excitement, “Look! It’s Harvey! Harvey Fisher is here!”
Elara instinctively turned toward the auditorium doors.
There he was, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit while exuding an aura of authority and elegance. Walking beside him was none other than Niamh.
