When I first reborn, my initial thought was that as long as I stayed away from Celeste and Lessie, I could protect my child and ensure my brother’s bloodline continued,
If possible, I had hoped we could coexist peacefully. I was even willing to reluctantly forgive what they had done in the past life and offer them some financial support moving forward.
But seeing them now, making a scene, threatening to hang themselves or jump off a building, I finally understood no matter what I did, they would cling to us!
Even though the baby–switching ordeal had passed, they would continue to exploit me. Worse yet, they might even harm my child.
After all, I had undergone a C–section, moaning I couldn’t have another baby for at least
three years.
If anything happened to my child, Lessio and Coleste would undoubtedly suggest I adopt Rickey or simply abandon him at my house, convinced that I would take good care of Malcolm’s
son.
So the only way for my family and me to truly live in peace was for these murderers to die! With that thought, I opened the door. “It’s fine. Just stay. We can take care of the baby
together.”
That night, I reviewed the surveillance footage from the front door. As expected, everything
played out exactly as I had imagined.
Lessie didn’t understand why Celeste insisted on staying at my house. She even blamed Celeste for failing to switch the babies properly, suspecting that her senility had led her to make
a mistake.
Celeste argued back a little, but the fact remained that the baby hadn’t been swapped.
With no excuse to offer, she could only say, “I’ve thought it through. We’ll stay here and not leave. It’s perfectly normal for a child to have difficulty growing up. As long as Angeline’s baby
doesn’t survive, she’ll naturally transfer doesn’t survive, she’ll naturally transfer
Sove to our family’s child.”
However, they didn’t discuss any specific method to achieve this.
On the second day after they moved in, Lessie suggested I stop breastfeeding, warning that it would cause my breasts to sag. She recommended I switch to formula and even insisted I buy a specific brand so both babies could drink the same milk.
So that was their plan, they wanted to tamper with the formula.
I obediently bought the formula and told them I would feed my child with it.
After bringing the formula home, I saw with my own eyes through the surveillance footage that Celeste added several heaping spoonfuls of salt into the can meant for my baby, while she
left Lessie’s formula untouched.
Infants cannot consume salt.

I took the formula laced with salt and placed it on the nightstand. “Thank you. I’ll feed him when he wakes up. You should go take care of Lessie. I think I heard Rickey crying.”
Celeste wanted to stay and watch my child drink the formula, but she was more concerned about Rickey. After hesitating for a moment, she left.
As soon as she was gone, I poured the formula down the toilet and picked up my baby, choosing to continue breastfeeding instead.
I had plenty of milk, enough to nourish one child without needing formula.
While Celeste was out grocery shopping, I took the other can of formula and added several spoonfuls of salt to it.
“Rickey, in the last life, you poisoned us. This time, consider it my payback,” I thought. The days that followed were surprisingly peaceful.
Celeste made different delicious meals for us every day, while Lessie constantly told me how much her child liked me, and how he smiled whenever he saw me.
When I showed little interest, she started saying that my child looked like Malcolm, lamenting that it was a shame Malcolm never got to meet his own son.
