After Callum and Hannah left, my life returned to peace.
However, I didn’t expect Aunt Janice to push me into blind dates.
“Come on, it’s not like you’re getting married right away. What’s wrong with getting to know someone? Besides, you already know him.”
Know him? Who?
I looked at James in confusion, but to my surprise, he only blinked back at me.
It wasn’t until we met that I realized it was actually one of my father’s former students and my senior–Ken Morales.
We had studied painting together for ten years and even participated in a design competition during college. We lost touch after he went abroad.

Seeing him again, I was a little surprised. “When you come back? How come I didn’t hear anything about it?”
“Ah, it’s been a while, Eloise,” he said, clearing his throat lightly. He stood up, smiling as he pulled the chair out for me.
“I just got back yesterday. I couldn’t wait to see you today.”
His words hinted at something more, and I wasn’t quite sure how to respond. So, I changed the topic.
He got the signal and didn’t push further.
We casually continued the conversation. By the end of the meal, I found myself wanting more.
Since then, our interactions slowly increased.
One day, he gave me a ticket to an art exhibition.
“This is the first time I’m hosting it in Azure City, you must come and support me.”
I was just about to reach out to take the ticket when a man swiped it away.
“Eloise, is it because of him that you divorced me?
Callum suddenly appeared, his face full of fury, as if I were the one who had been unfaithful. “My business is none of your concern. Please have some respect.”
I made sure Ken’s hand wasn’t hurt before giving Callum a fierce glare and turning to leave. But he grabbed my arm, refusing to let go.
“I’ve already taken care of things with Hannah. Come back with me. Let’s get back together.
