Chapter 51
At first, Nydia planned to call for a cab to take her home, but then she noticed a fleet of black luxury cars parked outside.
The front car door opened, and the driver emerged to hold open the back door for her. “Ms. Vega, right this way.”
Nydia was confused.
Norman said happily, “Ms. Vega, please join me in the car. We’ll off to grab a bite to eat.”
While her neighborhood was known for being upscale, the sight of these exclusive luxury cars would undoubtedly draw a lot of attention. It would make her feel awkward.
After hesitating for a while, Eddie had already come out.
“Do you not like this vehicle?”
He was planning to request a different car immediately. However, Nydia quickly gestured that she was perfectly content with the car.
Nevertheless, she glanced over her shoulder and asked, “Did Nelson not come with us?
Eddie’s face remained impassive. “He had something urgent to attend to.”
“I see.”
Nydia made a mental note to thank Nelson by treating him to a meal next time for his help.
“Let’s go.”
Eddie got into the car first. Norman leaped out of her arms and pulled her toward the car.
Eddie exuded a strong energy that seemed to radiate in all directions. Even with Norman acting as a barrier, she couldn’t help but feel the intensity of his presence.
Thankfully, Norman was like a natural shield. He settled onto Nydia’s lap, curled up into a small ball like a cuddly kitten.
“I would love to hear a story, Ms. Vega.”
Nydia asked, “Which one would you like to hear?
“I enjoy all of your stories, Ms. Vega.”
“In that case, I will tell you “The Rainbow Flower”
The little one’s eyes lit up
with anticipation. “Yes”
She had told stories to Ted frequently in the past, so this came naturally to her. Her voice was
soothing and serene, like a gentle spring trickling into people’s hearts.

The car window had a small break, allowing the wind to rush in. Her hair danced in the gusts, with a few wild strands tickling Eddie’s face.
The man’s uninterested gaze shifted to her, his eyes moving slowly. The sunlight streaming in from the window cast a perfect glow on her profile, accentuating the elegant lines of her face. Her gentle voice had a soothing quality that, seemed almost hypnotic.
The little one yawned and finally managed to get comfortable enough to drift off into sleep. He rested his head against the car window and gradually shut his eyes.
When Nydia finished her story, an eerie stillness filled the car.
She glanced over to take a look. Instead of reviewing important documents or holding business meetings in the car, a high–powered executive like Eddie was actually… sleeping?
His long, thick eyelashes shielded the dark circles beneath his eyes as he slept. The elegant line of his nose was complemented by his thin, crimson lips that were tightly pressed together. His complexion, usually fierce and imposing, now appeared pale and subdued.
At this moment, he no longer exuded a cold or menacing presence. Instead, there was a serene beauty about him.
Wayne, behind the wheel, was taken aback when he caught sight of this unexpected scene in, the rearview mirror.
He had always known Eddie to have difficulty sleeping and to be cautious about his
surroundings. Given his upbringing and trust issues, it seemed impossible for him to fall into a deep slumber in an unfamiliar place.
He couldn’t help but admire Nydia with great respect. A doctor who could perform miracles was truly remarkable. She was able to weave storytelling into her treatments.
He even wanted to bow down in reverence if he wasn’t currently driving. Unfortunately, Nydia didn’t notice his admiration as she too was feeling drowsy. It seemed the sleepiness was contagious.
After a while, they arrived back at Nydia’s rented apartment. The space was significantly smaller than even one bedroom in Eddie’s villa.
Despite this, he didn’t display any signs of displeasure. In fact, he even asked, “Do you need any help?”
Norman pursed his lips and rolled his eyes. “Uncle Eddie, are you just going to talk the talk? Of course, you have to help.”
And with that, he ushered Eddie into the kitchen
