Chapter 83
Nelson had slowly moved in front of Nadia, shielding her behind him. Out of concern for her, he had taken a punch himself.
“I’ll kill you!” Mick was furious, his voice trembling with rage.
Nelson wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and spoke coldly..
“You’ve already started the divorce proceedings, so why act all emotional now? You think that by doing this, Nadia will suddenly come back to you, looking at you again? Who do you think you are?”
“You said it yourself–the divorce isn’t finalized yet. She’s still my wife!”
Nelson couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“That won’t be the case for long.”
Nadia is free to make her own choices. She can like me, respect whatever she decides.

“But even if it’s not me, there will be someone else. Nadia is exceptional. You’re blind if you can’t see that. There are plenty of men who can appreciate her.”
Mick was already boiling with rage. The thought of Nadia being with another man, falling in love, and perhaps even having another child, made him want to kill someone.
“Nelson, you belong in hell!” he spat, his eyes burning with fury, a fire so intense it could incinerate anything in its path.
He lunged at Nelson with reckless abandon. Nelson, being a doctor, knew exactly where to strike and where the human body was weakest. He wasn’t about to let Mick get the upper hand.
Both men were now bloodied and bruised.
Nadia, feeling a little guilty, wanted to leave, but these two men seemed to have eyes at the back of their heads, blocking her path.
Just then, two bodyguards in black suits appeared, and Eddie stepped forward. The two men finally stopped fighting.
“Mr. Houle!” they both called out in unison, glancing toward him.
Eddie didn’t acknowledge them. Instead, he looked at Nadia. “Do you need help?”
Nadia nodded. “Please, Mr. Houle, take me back to the office.”
She felt like these two men were out of their minds. It was best to keep her distance.
“Wait!”
Normally, Mick wouldn’t have dared to confront someone like Eddie. But after drinking heavily last night, he vaguely remembered seeing Nadia, and when he woke up, he found himself at the police station.
The female officer had looked at him with disdain, telling him if he had nowhere to go, he could sleep under a bridge. She had mocked him for scaring vulnerable women.
That was when it hit him–he must have followed Nadia home, and she had actually called the police on him.
He was about to lose his mind. Was Nadia really done with being Mrs. Wilcher? How could she treat him like this? He had to settle the score with her.
To his surprise, when he found her, she was standing with Nelson, looking quite close.
His instinct told him that Nadia’s recent coldness was because she had found another man. The thought made him so furious that he had lashed out in anger earlier.
Now, how could he let Nadia be taken away by another man?
“She’s my wife. I’ll take her home and handle her. There’s no need for Mr. Houle to worry
Nelson gritted his teeth. “No, Nadia is a key member of our hospital. She has a meeting today and cannot leave. She must stay at the hospital!”
Although Eddie had bodyguards, he still stepped forward, intending to pull Nadia back. The bodyguards immediately blocked him, not letting him come any closer.
Eddie’s gaze swept the room, cold and sharp, cutting like a knife. His stare was so intense it felt like it could cut right through anyone.
“No one can stop me from taking whoever I want!”
As soon as he spoke, more bodyguards appeared, surrounding Nelson and Mick. Mick,
realizing the situation was turning against him, glared at Nadia in frustratio
“Are you really this desperate to climb the social ladder?”
