The following day, while we were all there, Lucian received a call from the lab.
“Oh, the test results are here,” Lucian said with restlessness.
He rushed out to grab the result while Astra leaned on the pillow, closing her eyes, tension evident on her face.
“I was right. I was damn right–The child is not mine.” Lucian suddenly came shouting and transfered the test result into my hand.
While I confirmed the results with my eyes, he walked straight to Astra and slapped her tight.
“You fooled me, you whore.” He bellowed. “I gave you everything, and you repay me with lies? With someone’s child?!”
Astra’s body went cold, and tears streaked her exhausted face.
“There must be some mistake, Lucian. I’m not lying.” She collapsed to her knees and held Lucian’s legs, sobbing uncontrollably.
“This is your child, Lucian, please trust me.‘
“There is no mistake, you bitch.” Lucian barked. “All was your game plan from the start. To trap me, to give my name to the child from your mistake.‘
I watched the scene unfold, my heart cold and unyielding. This wasn’t my fight anymore.
“No one is worth giving importance. They deserve each other.”
I silently walked away, but just as I reached the lobby, Lucian’s voice stopped me.
“Selene, please, don’t leave me,” He said.
I turned around to find Lucian coming and kneeling by my legs.
“Lucian, what the hell are you doing?” I asked in confusion.
He didn’t answer. Instead, he reached out to his pocket and drew our wedding ring, which I had hurled onto him.
“Selene, please,” he said, extending the ring to me.
“Accept this ring again, and let’s start over. I’ll be better this time–I promise. I’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy.”
I stared at him, feeling nothing but disdain.
“Lucian, seriously, now I feel I know nothing about you,” I said with contempt.

“You lost all respect today. I never knew you were such a shameless person. You are the biggest narcissist I have ever encountered.”
Lucian flickered his eyes away, realizing how a big fool he had made of himself.
“And for god sake, stop following me,” I warned.
“Nothing is going to change. I’m done with you. I have endured five years of your li manipulation, and cruelty, but no more.”
His face fell as the weight of my words sunk in, but I didn’t care.
I turned to my heels and walked out of the hospital, leaving my past behind forever.
Three months later…
It was a small gathering where I would be announced as a Luna of none, but Theo Tanner, the only man who truly understood me
“You look gorgeous, darling,” Theo whispered.
He lightly kissed my cheeks, and a blush crept up my cheeks.
The hall was filled with the entire Nightshade pack, and Leo addressed the crowd, holding my hand.
Good evening everyone. As you all are aware, why have we gathered here, yet I wish to make it official that–I accept, the love of my life, Selene, as the Luna of the Nightshade Pack.
The crowd hollered with excitement, and I couldn’t help but feel loved and cherished for the first time.
“I can’t wait to mate with
you, make you mine completely,” Theo said, biting me between my shoulder and neck,
and carrying me down the aisle in front of the crowd.
Not longer than five months later, I found out I was pregnant, which was the only dream of my life.
“Doctor, is everything okay?” My heart thumped as I asked.
“Absolutely. You are completely capable of producing a baby. There is no sign of you being infertile.” The doctor said in a firm tone
“I knew it,” Theo said, his voice tinged with anger.
“That bastard has fooled you, darling. You don’t have any issue, he has. He blamed you to hide his incapability.”
When I connected the dots, realization dawned on me.

“How could he,” I said with teary eyes.
“How could he be this selfish? For five years, he blamed me and taunted me.
Tears cascaded down my face like a dam, and Theo engulfed me in his arms.
“No, darling, don’t cry. I promise he will pay for every tear he made you shed. For every injustice he did to you.” He said with conviction in his voice.
I hugged him tighter, feeling an unshakable gratitude.
He not only gave me a second chance at love but also helped me reclaim my dignity and self -worth.
My life then felt completed. There was love, respect, freedom, and, most precious, two children–a girl and a boy.
