“Baby, my baby Theo.”
I managed to whisper, clutching my stomach as pain surged through me.
“Relax, okay? Nothing will happen. Your baby will be fine,” Theo assured me.
He scooped me into his arms when Lucian rushed over us
“Selene, what’s wrong with you? Where are you taking her? Is she really pregnant?” enquired.
Through the spasms of pain, I nodded weakly.
“No, she’s not! She’s definitely lying.” Astra sputtered.
“This is probably just her period. They’re both putting on a show.”
“Are you people fucking insane?” Theo bellowed.
“Can’t you see her condition? She’s pregnant–I personally took her to the hospital earlier.”
But why am I even explaining this to you? You’re the cruelest people I’ve ever met.
Without further discussion, he carried me to the car.
“You and your baby will be fine, okay?” Theo assured me again and drove off.
But before we reached the hospital, everything around me turned dark.

I don’t know how long I was unconscious, but when I woke up, I saw the person I hated the most now–Lucian.
“Selene!” He said with guilt written all over his face
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for not believing you.”
“My baby? Is it safe?!” I said, massaging my stomach.
Lucian didn’t respond. Instead, he lowered his head.
“Lucian!”
I grabbed his hand and shook it, my fear turning into desperation.
“Where is my baby? Why don’t I feel anything?
His tear–filled eyes met mine, and the realization hit me like thunderbolts.
“No, No…It’s not possible.” I said anxiously.

Chapter 5
“Selene, you had a miscarriage.”
“No….”
A raw scream tore from my lips, my hands banging against the bed.
“Bring my baby back, please. I want my baby back.”
Lucian reached out to comfort me, but I pushed him away, rage flaring within me.
“Don’t touch me!” I yelled.
I pulled the ring from my finger and hurled it at him.
“Fucking stay away from me! You killed my child, Lucian. You killed your own child.”
I rose and began hitting his chest. My body was too weak to handle my own weight.
“Selene!” Theo said, appearing through the door with a tray of food.
“Calm down, please. Calm down.”
He left the tray on the table and stopped me, hitting Lucian.
“Theo, leave me. I hate this man. He killed my child.”
I was uncontrollable, but Theo tightly engulfed me, and I ended up sobbing in his arms.
“Theo, this man took my child away. He took my chance to be a mother.”
“Tell him to fuck off from here. I don’t wanna see his face.”
“Yes, Selene. He will go okay, now, please calm down.”
Theo caressed my hair and made me settle on the bed again while Lucian stormed off.
“You have lost so much blood, Selene. You need to take care of yourself.” Theo said with
warmth.
“You need a lot of rest and have to eat. Okay, like right now.‘
“I don’t wanna eat, Theo.”
I shook my head with tears smearing my face.
“You have to, for yourself, dear.”
Theo spooned the soup and brought it to my mouth.
I locked my eyes with him and took it with a pale smile.
“Thank you, Theo,” I murmured. “I don’t know if you weren’t there what would I have done.”

He slid the trail of my hair off my face.
“May I ask you something?” Theo asked.
“Mhmm.”
“What’s your next plan? Are you gonna continue to be with the person who treats you like trash?”
“No,” I replied. “Not at all. I can’t live with him anymore.”
I shook my head, anger again bubbling within me.
“I gave so much in these five years, but no more. You are right, Theo. He doesn’t deserve my love.”
“Yes, but what about your mate bond?”
“I’m gonna end it as soon as I walk out of here.” I looked at him, firm and confident.
“He is the killer of my son, and I can’t forgive him. Never”
