Chapter 1
When I jumped off the rooftop, my parents were attending the opening. ceremony of their foster daughter.
My older brother was at the scene taking pictures of them and congratulating his new sister on successfully entering middle school.
From a young age, they pitied Ashley Schmitt for being orphaned and always showed her special favor.
My parents asked me not to argue with her over toys and not to snatch food from her. Otherwise, I would be considered a bad kid.
Ashley had no father or mother, yet she had everything of mine.
And I had a father and a mother, but they were all by Ashley’s side.
Later, I realized that their so–called fairness was nothing but favoritism.
I just didn’t expect that fate would give me another chance.
This time, I didn’t care about anything.
When I saw my parents holding Ashley’s hand and walking towards me and Kevin, I realized that I had been reborn and returned to the year when I was five.
A few days ago, there was a car accident that took away Ashley’s parents. They were the best friends of my mother, so she decided to adopt Ashley.
“Afterwards, Ashley will be your little sister. You, as older brother and sister, should take care of her,” my mother said while caressing the well-

behaved Ashley.
Ashley’s big eyes scanned our home, revealing a clear greediness.
Before I died, she would take advantage of my parents‘ sympathy and directly snatch away my things.
“Katelyn, I like your clothes, and I also like your family. Whatever I like, I will get it from you, and in the end, you will have nothing, oh!” Ashley often said these words to me when we were alone.
I was very angry and would always fight with her directly.
Once we started a fight, she would pretend to be weak and cry loudly, attracting the attention of my parents. Then, in front of them, she would deny every word she said and accuse me of setting her up.
The result was that my parents always made me apologize to her and accept punishment.
Sometimes my mother wouldn’t let me cat, and sometimes she would
make me kneel for an hour.
Afterward, my new clothes and all my toys were given to Ashley.
She was still not satisfied, and in the end, my friend and my virginity were also lost.
As Ashley said, she would take away everything from me.
Was I reborn to go through such an unfair experience one more time?
Thinking of this, I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed.
“Katelyn, from now on Ashley is your sister. Don’t worry. Dad and Mom are fair. We will love both of you and never play favorites,” Mom used to

say that too.
Even if Ashley took my things, I couldn’t fight back, let alone show any dissatisfaction. Otherwise, I would be considered immature.
They seemed to have forgotten that I was only one month older than Ashley.
Ashley held onto my mother with a fearful expression and said, “Margaret, does Katelyn not like me? Maybe I should just go home.”
Dad looked at me with a complex gaze and said, “Katelyn, we have adopted Ashley. She will be living with us from now on. I hope you can be a responsible older sister and take good care of her.”
My older brother Kevin also said, “Ashley, don’t be afraid. From now on, I’ll be here for you. I’ll make sure no one dares to bully you at home.” Mom and Dad looked at Kevin with satisfaction.
Overnight, Ashley replaced me as the most favored daughter of the Lambert family.
