Chapter 6
“Mom, did you forget that I was allergic to coke?” I stared at my mother.
My mother spoke incoherently, “I’m sorry, I… Katelyn, but Katelyn, Ashley is your sister.”
I asked, “What about my room?”
My mother pursed her lips and looked around for excuses, “The study has already been renovated. You can temporarily stay in the storage room, which can be cleaned up and used as a living space.”
Disappointment grew inside me. “Why did you insist on taking my room back then? Anyway, it was just by chance that I got into the top class. I don’t understand how to teach others, sorry, I have to go to class now.”
After saying that, I shook off her hand and ran out of the school cafeteria.
In my previous life, I also wanted to convince them with my grades, but when I brought home a perfect test paper, my mother said, “Do you think I don’t know about your grades? Are you so proud of yourself just because. of one lucky time?”
However, Ashley, who scored 85 points on the exam, was praised by the entire family, and they took her to Happy Valley to play together.
My mother said, “Katelyn, you had a fear of heights, so don’t come along this time. I will take you to the zoo next time.”
Later on, I, who had a fear of heights, climbed up to the 49th–floor rooftop and ended my own life.

Back then, I was too desperate for my parents‘ love. The conditions. Ashley proposed were like the apple in the stepmother’s hand in Snow White.
I agreed.
However, what awaited me were a few notorious troublemakers in the
school.
They tied me up, stripped off my clothes, and took many videos of me. I didn’t know how long it lasted, but my body felt like it had been run over by countless trucks, shattered and broken.
They cruelly told me.
Their original goal was Ashley, but she used me as a scapegoat.
When I told my parents about this in the hospital, all I got was a slap from my father. They said the surveillance footage showed that I went there voluntarily, and accused me of bringing trouble upon myself, getting involved with shady people, and trying to drag Ashley down with me.
They never came to the hospital again after that, as if I no longer existed.
Until the day Ashley started college, I saw a photo of Ashley with my family of four on Instagram. Filled with resentment, I jumped off the rooftop.
I wanted to see the regretful expressions of my parents. However, I was disappointed once again.
They didn’t even bother to collect my ashes.
At that moment, Ashley’s phone suddenly rang.
I didn’t even think about it, I hung up the phone directly and turned it off.

father also seemed to have aged several years.
In my previous life, they looked at me with intense disgust in their eyes, finding me dirty and blaming me for bringing shame to the Lambert family.
In this lifetime, Ashley replaced them, and they wished they could lie on top of her. My mother, in particular, held Ashley in her arms with self- blame.
Ashley cried in her arms and said, “I called Katelyn for help, but she ignored me. Did I do something wrong that she wants to see me die?”
