I had listed the property for sale in advance, so many people came to view the apartment every
day.
I heard from the agent that when these potential buyers first arrived, Angeline actually used a broom to drive them out.
The agent exclaimed spiritedly, “Your mother–in–law is as strong as an ox! She doesn’t seem like a cancer patient at all to me. I’m pretty sure she could outlive me!”
I told the agent that the real estate deed only had my name on it. If they still refused to leave, I would call the police and report them for trespassing.
Everett and Rowan tried several different methods to find me after I pulled this trick. When they could not reach me, they called me from an unknown number.

“Daphne!”
It was Rowan’s furious voice on the phone.

“Don’t push your luck. How dare you put our house up for sale! Are you crazy? If you sell the house, where will Everett and I live?“!
Everett also joined in, “Oh my God, Mom! I’ve never seen a mother as heartless as you before. You’re ignoring your husband and son and abandoning us so you can enjoy yourself outside. You’re really too selfish!”
Somehow, Everett found my social–media and learned that I was eating good food, drinking, and having fun all day.
“How about this? If you transfer me some money, I’ll forgive you. Otherwise, I will never call you Mom again!”
I laughed as I listened to Rowan’s and Everett’s shameless ramblings.
“Rowan, if I remember correctly, my parents bought the house in full before we got married.” I slowly took a sip of tea and said, “It’s none of your business if I sell my own house!”
“Y–y–you…” Rowan stuttered for a long time.
I sneered. “Talk to me again after your stutter is cured.”
I changed the topic and called Everett directly.
Everett snorted coldly. “I don’t care how much you and Dad argue. I’m still your son!”
I replied, “I just wanted to formally inform you that our mother–son relationship ended on the day I left.”
He was stunned.
I added, “If you want money, please go to your father or grandmother. Don’t come to me. I wouldn’t give you half a cent even if I had to burn every dollar I had, so don’t bother asking!” Before Everett could recover, Angeline got on the line.
“Daphne, you have no conscience! You’re so shameless! Do you want to die, you evil bitch?!”
“I don’t think it’s me who wants to die,” I pointed at her through the phone and unleashed all my pent–up anger at her. “I guess you haven’t forgotten that I still have something on you.”
