I watched Rowan push Angeline hard and yell, “Get lost!”
Everett’s head was still bleeding. He glared at Rowan and Angeline fiercely and screamed, “It’s all your fault! I hate you so much!”
Despite Everett yelling at him, Rowan still insisted on taking him to the hospital. I did not care about how Everett would fare after the beating.
I contacted the moving company while they were at the hospital and headed straight to the house. I packed up all their belongings and threw them out. After clearing the house, I signed the contract with the buyer.
After all this was done, I dropped by for a house viewing and bought myself a new place.
I had been busy all day, and before I had time to take a breath, I heard from my colleagues that my ex–husband’s family had put up a banner in front of my company. It caused a huge
commotion.
When I arrived, Rowan was holding a loudspeaker, imitating my cunning methods to force me to show up. He wrote on a banner that he wanted me to pay him back the money.
I laughed, asked Lily to get a good angle for her recording, and went out alone to face them. As soon as Rowan saw me, he pushed Everett out
Everett’s head was heavily bandaged like he was a mummy, with only his watery eyes on display. He sounded desperate as he called, “Mom.”
Rowan pointed at him and yelled at me, “You can divorce me, but you can’t ignore your son. Your son ended up like this, yet you could still kick us out of our own home with peace of mind. You’re so inhumane!”
Many onlookers did not know what was happening. They looked at the heavily bandaged boy and heard Rowan’s accusations, then formed their own opinions of what had happened. They were all pointing at me, judging me.,
“No way! She seems decent. How could this be true?”

“She doesn’t care about her own son. You really can’t judge people by appearances. Women like her are toxic and cold. How disgusting!”
As the crowd wagged their fingers and passed judgement on me, Angeline laid down on the ground and began to roll around. It was her classic trick to feign innocence.
“Where’s your conscience? My son has been without a father since he was a child. I worked hard to take care of him and raised him all by myself. He was finally able to make a life for himself in the city. I thought everything would be stable once he got married,

Angeline cried and lied without hesitation, and she soon received a wave of sympathy.
