Chapter 12
With the clues I provided, the police quickly arrested several individuals who had been tormenting Serena.
After her death, they had immediately gone into hiding.
In my previous life, it had taken the police ages to track these people down.
But this time, it took less than a day.
However, these suspects only confessed to bullying Serena while her parents were away, recording it as blackmail material.
They refused to acknowledge any involvement in her death.
As long as the cause of Serena’s death remained unclear, Oliver’s name would remain tainted by suspicion.
“The little girl you mentioned–we still haven’t found her,” Lucas said, eyeing me.
“How did you know all this?”
I couldn’t tell him I was back.
Instead, I explained that I had noticed something was off with my son and, after following him for a while, I had gathered some clues.
Chapter 12
I didn’t tell them everything.
As for the little girl…
Her name was Daisy Grant.
In my past life, it was Gavin who found her–the key witness.
Daisy was a child from the same neighborhood as Serena.

The day before the incident. Serena had invited Daisy over for her birthday.
Serena’s parents were frequently away, and Daisy was the only one who remembered Serena’s birthday.
Serena had been touched that Daisy hadn’t forgotten her, even though her own parents had.
So, after school, Serena brought Daisy home to celebrate, buying a cake to share with her.
But on that particular day, those same people wouldn’t leave Serena in peace.
Fearing that Daisy might also become a target. Serena hid her in the wardrobe.
After they had tortured Serena all night, they forced her to meet Oliver on the rooftop the next day and jump right in front of
him.

They knew that Oliver had secretly gathered evidence of their abuse.
Serena, however, had been too scared of that evidence being released online, so neither of them had gone to the police or informed their parents.
Their plan had been for Oliver and Serena to meet on the rooftop. Although they had no intention of involving the authorities, they had planned to ask Gavin, a lawyer, to help. them handle things..
But when the perpetrators realized they were about to be exposed, they forced Serena to jump, framing Oliver for her death.
Serena didn’t want to hurt Oliver, but when they dragged Daisy out of the wardrobe and threatened to hurt her, she had no choice but to comply.
They had installed cameras throughout Serena’s house, monitoring her every move–including the secret meetings with Oliver.
They knew everything.
That morning, after searching for Daisy all night, Daisy’s parents blamed Serena for losing her.
They beat her badly.

What they didn’t know was that Daisy wasn’t lost–she had been kidnapped.
And Serena couldn’t say a word.
That morning, Serena went to school, battered and bruised, before meeting Oliver on the rooftop.
Then, without hesitation, she leapt to her death in front of him.
Oliver never understood why Serena, who had promised to live a better life with him, chose that moment to end it all.
He couldn’t understand why he suddenly became the main suspect in both the media and the police investigation.
His confusion and panic led to the chaos that followed.
In my previous life, Daisy had been found in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town.
But this time, with the clues I gave, the police had yet to find Daisy.
The cameras in Serena’s house had long been removed by the perpetrators.
No matter how much the police interrogated the suspects, they all stuck to the same story–Serena’s death had nothing to do with them, and they had no idea where Daisy was.
These people were determined to pin the blame on Oliver.

I thought about all the changes in this life–everything seemed to trace back to Celeste.
Could Daisy’s disappearance also be part of her plan?
But in my past life, when Celeste died, the case had never been. resolved.
She couldn’t possibly have known about this key witness!
