Chapter 12 Discussing Divorce Again.
Clearly, Samuel thought Eliana had pushed Chloe down the stairs.
His face instantly showed anger, but before he could say a word, Chloe grabbed his hand and cried weakly, her head covered in blood.
“Sam, I just wanted to get along with her. I never thought she’d be so cruel to me. Sam, my face hurts so much, and my head aches terribly.”
Samuel looked down and saw the finger marks on Chloe’s cheek and the blood covering her head.
Even though he wanted to explode with anger, he quickly picked Chloe up, shot an angry look at Eliana, and rushed out of
the villa.
Eliana saw his eyes, full of daggers directed at her, and felt her heart pierced.
“So, he believes she pushed Chloe down?‘
“Ridiculous. Absurd. But what now?”
“Now the man she loves will never trust her.”
Resisting pain and fear and thinking of the baby in her belly, she went downstairs.
She didn’t go out all day.
She spent the whole time on her phone, looking up parenting information online.
At the hospital.
Finally, Chloe was moved from the emergency room to a regular, private room.
Samuel found the attending doctor and asked about her condition.
The doctor reported honestly. “The patient is seriously injured, the x–ray shows her skull is fractured. Indeed we cannot rule out the risk of blindness, at least, temporary blindness. In addition, her right femur is fractured. She’ll likely be in a wheelchair for a while.”
Samuel left the department front desk and walked towards Chloe’s room, his feelings in turmoil.
He already owed Chloe, and now she had been hurt in his home. He felt even more guilty.
Standing at the door of Chloe’s room, his back stiff, he didn’t want to go in but had to.
In the room, Chloe was still unconscious on the bed, with a nurse administering an IV drip.
Samuel walked in and stood at the foot of the bed, looking at the woman with thick bandages around her head, wearing an oxygen mask, her face pale
He couldn’t help feeling guilty.
“But what could he do?‘
Now, apart from spending time with her during treatment, there seemed to be no other option.
Not knowing how long Chloe would be unconscious, Samuel arranged for Chloe’s constant care and returned home in the afternoon.
Eliana sat on the living room sofa, staring blankly at the TV
Only when she heard movement at the front door did she snap back to reality and look up.
Seeing Samuel return, she sat there motionless, waiting for him to speak.
Samuel, with an expression as cold as granite, walked straight over to Eliana and stood in front of her, looking down at her.
“You’re so young, yet how can you be so vicious?” he asked.
Meeting Samuel’s gaze, seeing his expressionless face made Ellano felt trapped like a bird. She thought she might

Discussing Divorce Again.
Her lips trembled as she asked, “Is this really what you think of me?”
“I saw it with my own eyes,” he said, each word as cold as ice.
Eliana laughed bitterly, confronting him with a hurt expression. “What did you see with your own eyes? Did you see me push her down the stairs?”
“You still want to deny it?”
“I didn’t push her. You know I didn’t. I was holding a broom, I wanted to chase her away, but I didn’t touch her.”
“Eliana!” Samuel scolded with disgust, “Even if you didn’t touch her, she fell because of you. And you hit her face, didn’t you?”
She felt no guilt, but Eliana knew she would never have the advantage over this man.
Everything was decided by him.
She didn’t want to argue anymore and didn’t deny hitting Chloe.
“That’s right, I hit her face. She deserved it.”
“How can you be so reckless?” Samuel, in his anger, said directly, “Since you’re so disobedient, I think it’s time we reconsider the divorce-
