Chapter 19 No Need for You to Have a Child Anymore
Samuel’s expression changed, his voice displeased, “You throwing a tantrum again?”
Eliana stubbornly replied, “No, I just don’t want to keep you from being with someone else.”
“So you’ll feel better if I leave?”
“If I’m not feeling good, can you at least ignore that woman?” Eliana countered.
Samuel said nothing.
He patiently explained, “Look Eli, once Chloe is better, obviously I won’t pay her any more attention. Why do you always act like a child around me? Can’t you try to understand my situation?”
His wife always wanted him to make a fuss of her, but his patience had limits.
She said, “How am I acting like a child? I understand you, don’t I? Isn’t that why I’m telling you to go?”
Eliana felt cold with resentment.
She was upset. Couldn’t she vent a little?
Samuel was at a loss with her. He reached out and took her hand. “Alright, stop fussing. I’ll handle things properly.”
Eliana didn’t speak but didn’t push away his touch either. Samuel got up and knelt beside her chair.
Finally, she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore.
Samuel looked up at her, his brow furrowing with concern, he brushed her hair away from her eyes. “Hey, hey. Don’t cry anymore Eli.”
Eliana persisted, “My heart hurts with being constantly squeezed. What’s wrong with me crying a little?”
“Okay, then keep crying,” he said, looking at h
He had no choice but to let her cry it out.

But suddenly Eliana stopped crying. She looked down at him angrily and said, “You tell me to cry, so I won’t cry. I’ll make you mad instead.”
Samuel stood up. “I have no answer to that,” he said. She still knew how to be contrary with him. It seemed she wasn’t as fragile as he thought.
“Let’s go,” he said, “I’ll take you back to school”
Eliana stood up in front of him. “It only takes about ten minutes to get back to school. After ten minutes, I won’t see you again Can I have a hug?”
Samuel looked around. They were dining al fresco and alone. He called over the server and paid the bill
Elsana called out softly. “Samuel,”
“Here,” he said, and held her in his arms.
“Do you love me?” she asked.
Samuel didn’t respond.
Eliana knew that hearing the words “I love you” from his mouth would be about as likely as a diamond in her breakfast
cereal
So she gave up and changed the subject. “If you were to have a baby in the future, would you prefer a boy or a girl?”
“I’d like either,” he said.
“Then pick a name for the baby, one for a boy and one for a girl, just in case.”
Samuel looked down, frowning, his wife nestled against his chest. “There’s no baby yet. What’s the use of picking nɅmy
now?”
“I said it’s just in case. What if we have one in the future?”

“We’ll pick nAmy then.”
You Have aut Anymore
Eliana fell silent, thinking. ‘Should she tell him now that she is already pregnant?”
In just a few months, Samuel would become a father.
Samuel suddenly said in a deep voice, “Don’t think about having children now. Focus on your studies first. We’ll talk about it in the future.”
He knew he would eventually marry Chloe. If Eli had his child, it would ruin her life.
“What did you say?” Eliana looked up at him, dumbfounded.
Samuel explained, “I mean you’re still studying. We’ll talk about having children later.”
Eliana was devastated.
‘So he mean he doesn’t want a child now?”
‘Is it that he doesn’t need one, or that he doesn’t want her to have one?
“What about the baby in her belly now?”
Eliana suddenly felt disoriented, her small hand trembling as she touched her abdomen.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you back to school,” Samuel said.
He took her hand, like the wing of a songbird, and they walked over to the car.
Eliana suddenly felt herself become like a marionette, listlessly allowing Samuel to lead her.
They got in the car, which quickly sped towards the school. Before Eliana could collect her thoughts, the car stopped at the university gate.
She heard Samuel’s pleasant voice. “We’re here,” he said.
Eliana, still in a daze, prepared to get out of the car.
Seeing Eliana despondent, Samuel felt uneasy and looked intently at her.
“What’s wrong?” he asked. His gaze fell on her hand covering her stomach, and he asked with concern, “Why are you holding your stomach? Are you feeling unwell?”
Eliana looked up at him, and almost felt herself look through him.
Samuel suddenly seemed to realize something and asked with an unsteady voice, “Eliana,” he said, “Are you pregnant?”
