Samuel kept staring at her, as if trying to spot any sign of deception on her face.
Eliana hurriedly explained, lying without hesitation. “Really, I’m not. I just accidentally ate something bad recently, that’s why it’s perfect we eat like today! It was lovely. My periods are regular, and if I were pregnant, how could I hide it from you?”
He had just said he didn’t want her to have a child. If he knew she was really pregnant, she thought he would, without hesitation, take her to the hospital to terminate it.
Samuel looked at her deeply, and after a moment, he seemed to finally believe her,
Samuel lay his hand on her belly, asking with concern, “How are you feeling now?”
“I’m better already,” she said. “Really. Don’t worry, Samuel.”
Samuel finally relaxed. “Okay, well if you’re sure. Take good care of yourself. You should be having exams these days. right? After your exams are over, I’ll find some time for us.”
Eliana nodded, got out of the car, and walked towards the school gate without looking back.
Samuel watched her gradually disappearing figure through the car window, only withdrawing his gaze after a while to signal the driver, “Let’s go.”
Just as their car left, in another car not far behind, a man in black dialed Chloe’s number.
Chloe was still in the hospital room. Seeing her phone ringing on the bedside table, she picked it up and answered.
On the phone, the man said, “Ms. Howard, Mr. Nelson did indeed meet his wife. They had dinner at Mykonos, and Mr. Nelson only left after dropping her off at the university.”
Hearing this, Chloe’s face darkened.

‘Samuel said he is going to the company to handle some business, but it turned out he was meeting Eliana.”

Thinking of this, Chloe gritted her teeth and instructed the person on the phone.
“Keep a constant watch on her. If you can get the photos of her in bed with other men, like we agreed, I’ll give you $20,000
for each.”
Hearing this, the man in black excitedly replied, “Yes, Ms. Howard, of course. Don’t worry, we’ll definitely get those photos.”
Eliana couldn’t sleep a wink all night.
Tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep, she kept taking out her phone to look at images of Samuel over and over again.
Finally, at midnight, she couldn’t resist calling his number.
Surprisingly, he wasn’t asleep and answered within seconds.
“What is it?” Her husband’s pleasant, magnetic voice had somehow lost much of its warmth.
Eliana, hiding under her blanket, bit her arm and choked out, “Samuel, I miss you so much.”
She wanted to be with him, to see him.
She wanted to sleep in his arms every night like before.
Samuel covered the phone and looked at Chloe, who was still awake. “I’m going out to take a call.”
Chloe still pretending to be blind cried out, “Sam, don’t go. Sam, I can’t see anything. Don’t leave me.” Samuel said, “I’ll just be at the door.”
After leaving the hospital room, he quickly whispered into his phone, “Where are you?”

Pregnant?
Eliana could hear Chloe’s wails, beseeching Samuel, and felt fury erupting in her breast.
Still, she damped it down immediately and pretended everything was fine. “I’m in my dorm.”
“Okay Eli, but I can’t talk right now. Chloe isn’t asleep yet.”
Eliana felt upset hearing this. Of course, she knew it, but she simply said, “Then you should stay with her. I’ll hang up.”
But just as their call was ending, Samuel saw Chloe getting out of bed and groping her way towards the door.

Seeing Chloe was about to fall, Samuel support her..
As soon as she was held, Chloe tightly hugged Samuel, crying and calling out in fear, “Sam, Sam, don’t leave me. I only have you now. I can’t see anything. I only feel safe when you’re by my side. Sam, hold me. I’m scared.”
Samuel assured her. He said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here. I won’t leave you.
Samuel had momentarily forgotten about Eliana. Samuel momentarily forgot that the call was still connected as he slipped the phone into his pocket and carried Chloe back to the room.
