Chapter 34 His Hand Slipped Under Her Dress (1)
Chloe saw everything Samuel was doing, but no matter how angry she felt, she had to act normal and suppress her irritation and hatred. She had to keep pretending she was blind. Perhaps because he hadn’t touched Eli for a while, just a few kisses and caresses got Samuel aroused. He started ignoring Chloe’s presence completely, kissing passionately, his hand gradually sliding along Eliana’s thigh and under her dress. She almost moaned out loud, lost in Samuel’s passion.
Suddenly, Chloe stood up and turned around, and then banged her knee against a coffee table. Her cane fell, and tumbled to the ground. Samuel came to his senses and quickly moved Eliona off his lap. He reached down to take Chloe’s hand and help her to her feet. “Didn’t I tell you not to move?” he said.
Chloe quickly said, “I… I just thought you sounded tired and wanted to get you some water. I’m sorry, Sam, I’m causing trouble again.”
“How could you pour water when you can’t see? Now your knee is scraped.”
Samuel told Eliana, “Go get the first aid kit.”
Eliana, who had sat back down on the couch after being unceremoniously ejected from her husband’s lap, reluctantly got up to get the first aid kit. Chloe frowned and asked, “Sam, didn’t you say Eliana went upstairs? Who did you just ask to get the first aid kit?”
“She came back down,” he said.
Chloe fell silent, though she was fuming inside. They had tried to test if she was faking blindness right in front of her? Not a chance. She wasn’t Chloe Howard for nothing she had enough acting skills to stick around Samuel long enough for him to dump Eliana.
–
That night, after getting Chloe to her room, and when he had returned to the master bedroom, Samuel received a call from his assistant, Ethan.
“Boss, we investigated, but looks like the KTV’s surveillance footage was destroyed. We still haven’t found who tried to harm Mrs. Nelson.“.
Samuel’s lips tightened. He let out a breath, “Is this all you have for me?” he asked.
“I’m sorry, Boss,” Ethan said, “I’ll increase our efforts immediately.”
After ending the call, Samuel strode through the master bedroom. Eliana was already in bed and her heart felt heavy. She particularly hated seeing Samuel close to another woman. She wondered now how long she could endure this situation with Chloe.
Hearing footsteps, Eliana slowly sat up and saw Samuel approaching, still in his work clothes. Standing before her, he coldly asked, “Did you figure it out? Is she faking?”
Eliana frowned.
Samuel continued, with what sounded like a warning in his voice. “Facts, Eliana,” he said, “Prove she’s really blind. Stop bothering her from now on.”
Eliana’s heart ached, “When did I ever bother her?” She explained, “Earlier, when you were kissing me, she clearly couldn’t stand it and deliberately got up to bump into the table.”

Samuel said, “She said she was getting me a glass of water. Who would deliberately hurt themselves by hitting their knee against a hard table corner? Would you do that?” Before she could speak, Samuel cut her off and said, “Besides, when I was kissing you, her face showed no reaction. Chloe isn’t an actress how could she fake that?”
‘So,‘ she thought, he thinks Chloe’s really blind.” Eliana almost shouted out loud. ‘Well I friggin‘ know she’s faking!” But she didn’t want to argue with Samuel. She lay down and pulled the covers over her head, turning her back to him.
Samuel changed into his pajamas and got into bed beside her. Usually she would snuggle into his arms as soon as he got into bed. This time she did not and Samuel had to reach for her. But Eliana pulled away.
Samuel now displeased, and said, “Eliana, throwing another tantrum?”
“I’m not. I just want to sleep alone,” she said.
“Are you sure about that?” Samuel asked.
Eliana stayed quiet, her heart hurting. She hated how Samuel always wrongly accused her and scolded her without reason. But she loved him so much – what could she do about not being able to leave him? Eliana wondered if she was becoming a masochist. Despite her discomfort, she turned around and nestled into his arms. Samuel was finally satisfied and held her.
He said, “Just remember, I’m only making up for the harm done to her. Don’t overthink it.”
Eliana stayed quiet to avoid being accused of making a fuss. Samuel looked down at her head on his chest. “Why so quiet?” And Eliana kept her lips sealed. Samuel’s lips curved into a smile, and he gave her hair a hard bed time kiss before saying, “Let’s sleep.”
As usual, he held her with both arms. Eli was soft and delicate, with a subtle sweet scent. That scent was his best sleeping pill.
Eliana habitually rested her leg over Samuel’s body, using his arm as a pillow. Sometimes when she woke up
the next morning, she’d find herself completely sprawled on top of Samuel. Only like this could she sleep peacefully and soundly.
The next morning, Eliana was awakened by kisses. The morning Samuel was like a hungry wolf, kissing her mouth and using his fingertips to gently stroke round her nipples.
