Chapter 37 Samuel Was About to Hit Her
When Samuel pulled back the covers, they immediately began jumping about. One even jumped right onto Chloe. Frightened, Chloe screamed, “Ah! What’s that? What is it, Sam…” Samuel quickly held the frightened Chloe and shouted toward the door. “Nora, get up here now!”
Hearing her boss’s angry yell, Nora rushed upstairs. When she entered the room and saw what was on Chloe’s bed, she was also shocked. “What’s going on? Who did this?” Samuel snapped.
Nora quickly shook her head, “Sir, I don’t know! I absolutely didn’t do this. I wouldn’t dare put these things on Ms. Howard’s bed even if I had a hundred lives!”
Chloe pretended to ask innocently, “Sam, what is it? What’s on my bed?”
“Nothing,” he said, and ordered Nora to prepare one of the other bedrooms.
After Nora had prepared the room and Samuel finally got Chloe settled in bed, he went downstairs. Eliana was sitting on the living room couch and quickly asked him what was going on,
Samuel stood in front of Eliana, and stared down at her, his face expressionless and calm. “Eliana,” he said, “Are you taking advantage of my love for you to get up to whatever sick pranks you want?”
Eliana heard the cold fury in her husband’s tone and felt seriously confused. “What are you talking about?” she asked. “Don’t bullshit me, Eliana,” he said. “Who else in this house takes an interest in the contents of the pond besides the gardener except you?”
Not knowing what Samuel meant, she decided to stand on the couch to meet his eyes. Get a bit pissed herself. Besides, she had just cause. “You can’t accuse me without reason. What exactly did I do to make you so angry? Tell me clearly.”

Eliana paused, turned back and shouted at Samuel, unable to control her emotions. “Why should I apologize to that bitch?” she said. “Chloe stole my frogs and killed my exceedingly fucking expensive koi carp! Explain–it to me, Samuel, why the fuck should I apologize to her?”
