Chapter 49 I’ll Only Make Love to You (1)
Nora really believed Chloe was going to surprise her boss, so she quickly packed up and took Chloe back.
When Samuel arrived home, it was seven–thirty. He knew Nora wasn’t home, so no one would cook for his little wife. He planned to take her out to eat. To his surprise, when he got back, he saw Eli sitting with Emma in the dining room, eating dinner. Both looked up when they heard movement at the door.
When they saw it was Samuel, no one paid attention to him, and they continued eating. Samuel frowned as he walked toward them, standing by the dining table with disgust looking at what they were eating, and asked in a deep voice: “Is this all you’re eating?”
Emma lifted her chin and hummed, she said, “Eli’s mac and cheese is really delicious.”
Samuel didn’t believe it. He was certain this little woman beside him could not cook. He pulled out a chair and sat down and picked up a fork. Then he preceded to take the pasta directly from Eliana’s plate while she was eating.
Eliana looked at him angrily, she said, “Hey! What do you think you’re doing? Go make your own, Samuel, if you want to
eat.
Samuel glanced up at her, fork poised in front of his mouth. He said, “I’m paying for your education, providing a beautiful home for you, and I can’t eat a few bites of your pasta?”
Eliana had no answer to that, and did not dare argue back. And, she thought, ‘Samuel was right.’ It was just a few bites of pasta, and she was full anyway. Instead, putting down her fork, Eliana pushed back her chair got up and left.
Samuel couldn’t help but watch Eli’s departing figure again. He knew she was unhappy about the divorce. It seemed ever since Chloe appeared, her smiling face, which used to love laughing, rarely bloomed as brilliantly as before. How did he turn the carefree, pure, and innocent Eli into such a pitiful creature who was now always worried and crying? At this moment, Samuel felt he was actually quite despicable.”
Emma quickly sat next to Samuel, asking in a low voice, “Sam, do you love your wife?”
Samuel raised his knuckles and knocked on her head, “Just eat, kids shouldn’t talk so much.”
Emma pouted, rubbing her head and complaining: “Ow! That was sore,” Then she said, “You must have fought with Eli, right? Anyway, I’m telling you, the family said if she can’t have your baby, they’re going to find you a new wife. I think Eli is beautiful and easy to get along with. If you love her, don’t let her be caught in the crossfire. Don’t be childless, have a baby with her. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one as smart and cute as me?” Then she batted her eyelashes at him.
Samuel stared down at the child beside him. He really didn’t know how a ten–year–old kid could understand these things. He raised his hand and pushed her head away, “Kids shouldn’t meddle in adult matters,” he said.
Emma protested, “I’m not meddling,” she said, “my big brother and sister–in–law sent me here to supervise you two having a baby. If you don’t have a baby, my dad will die from anger because of you.”

“Enough,” Samuel said, “Say one more word and see if I don’t spank you.” He deliberately put on a fierce look. Emma was exasperated, throwing down her spoon and fork and leaving her chair, “Fine, do what you want,” she said, over her shoulder stomping out of the room. “When your wife gets targeted by the family, see how you handle it.”
Samuel wouldn’t take a child’s words to heart. After eating, he went upstairs. He planned to take a shower, but when he came to the dressing room, he saw Eliana standing on a chair trying to get her suitcase off the shelf in the closet. He crossed his arms, and leaning against the wall with an amused smile, he said, “What? Planning to move out again?”
Eliana paused while reaching for the suitcase, turning to look at the man beside her. She blinked, her face full of hurt, “Making room for you and Chloe, it’s going to happen sooner or later anyway, Samuel.” she said.
Just mentioning this made Samuel upset. “I told you, even after the divorce, this place is still yours. The house was bought in your name.”
However, she was adamant. “I don’t need it,” she said.
But her stubbornness made Samuel angry, “Eliana, are you trying to make yet more trouble for me?”
When Samuel got angry, Eliana felt wronged. She glared at him and shouted: “How is not wanting your things making trouble?”
Samuel looked at her on the chair and asked, “Then why won’t you take my things?”
Eliana was furious, “Can’t I just not want to live in the place where we lived together?” Knowing that she loved him deeply and couldn’t leave him. If they had to separate, staying here looking at the things he left behind, thinking about the memories they once shared, how could she forget him? If she couldn’t forget him, how could she pull herself together again?
Samuel fell silent. One sentence made him understand Eh’s thoughts. She just didn’t want to leave him, yet felt sad because he was going to marry Chloe. It was his fault.
Samuel reached out his long arms and directly pulled Eliana’s petite body into his embrace, “Sorry,” he said, simply.
Eliana struggled in his arms, she didn’t want this “Let me go,” she said.
“Eli, I’ve told you why I’m marrying Chloe. It’s just a matter of a marriage certificate. I’ll marry her, but I won’t make love to her. I’ll only make love to you, so even if we’re divorced, you can still stay by my side.”
Eliana pushed away the man in front of her with effort, and with teary eyes, she said, “You want me to be your mistress?”
