“Mrs. Ford. Mrs. Ford?”
Deep in slumber, Liesel could feel someone shaking her.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw the amicable–looking woman in her 40s–Eloise. Since she became Jacob’s wife, Eloise had been looking after her.
Liesel frowned and propped herself up. “What’s up, Eloise?”
“Mr. Ford has told me to wake you up, or you’ll be late to work, Mrs. Ford,” Eloise informed politely.
Taken aback, Liesel nodded and then realized she was in a nightgown.
Before she could react, Eloise explained, “When Mr. Ford took you home last night, you were already in a deep sleep. He didn’t want to wake you up, so he changed your clothes for you.”
Liesel’s body froze. Before the divorce, she would often fall asleep on the desk whenever she stayed up late to finish writing her proposal in the study.
At that time, Jacob would carry her back to the bedroom and change her into a nightgown. If she woke up in the middle of that process, he would bring her into the bathroom and do other things
Liesel’s face flushed in embarrassment, and she patted her warm cheeks.
Jaco her husband before the divorce, but he wasn’t now. Having a man who was no
longer her legal partner undress her made her feel somewhat shameful.
Letting out a faint sigh, she recalled the last vivid memory she had from last night; it was the scene of her and Jacob at the Molhican stall. However, he didn’t seem to have eaten at
all.
“You were too deep in sleep, and I couldn’t wake you up after several tries last night. That was why Mr. Ford changed for you, Mrs. Ford.” Eloise smiled.
“I’m sorry.” Liesel cringed. She wanted nothing more than to disappear at that moment. “I was a nuisance.”
“No, you weren’t. That’s exactly how Mr. Ford used to take care of you.” Eloise comforted her. “Why don’t you wash up, Mrs. Ford? Breakfast is ready.”
Her words suddenly put Liesel in a trance. The way she repeatedly addressed her as Mrs. Ford made her feel like she had never left this place.
Then, she looked up, saw the room’s decor, and couldn’t help but smile mockingly. Everything had changed.

Chapter 32
She washed up in the guest room bathroom, where the toiletries were all new and in brands. she usually used. There were no clothes in the guest room, so she casually headed to the dining area in her nightgown.
She took a long, deep breath before stepping out of the room. She truly felt embarrassed to face Jacob.
Perhaps she had mumbled something in her dreams last night. She could faintly remember doing so. However, the memories were a haze.
Once she arrived at the dining area, Jacob had finished breakfast and started reading the newspaper at the dining table. It seemed like he had heard her approach because he shifted his gaze from the papers to her.
When he noticed her nightgown, he discreetly furrowed his brows. “That’s what you’re wearing?”
Liesel had left behind that nightgown.
Back then, she had wanted to be flirtatious with Jacob. Her nightgowns were either typically short or sleek and black. They showcased her smooth back, perfectly highlighting her figure and exuding undeniable allure.
“This is what I’ve always worn.”
Liesel sat on the chair and added, “Besides, I don’t have clothes in the guest room. I’ll change after breakfast. That’s what I used to do anyway.”
Indeed, she had a habit of changing into her outfit of the day only after breakfast.
Jacob looked away and reminded her, “You’re not even wearing a bra.”
She decisively replied, “There are no bras in the guest room, and I can’t wear mine for two days straight. Don’t you know?”
