Chapter 9
I subtly took two steps back to maintain a polite social distance from him. “Mr. Holden, I have my own life plan. Being a mistress is not something I want.”
Pierce thought I was not truly determined and continued offering me more benefits.
I interrupted him, saying, “Imagine if I were your sister, Mr. Holden. Would you want her to live such a life?”
Pierce froze in place as he gently brushed his left cheek with his hand.
On the way home, I happened to pass by the hospital. Quincey had sent me a message asking me to visit her, claiming she had something important to say.
I ran into a nurse coming out of the ward.
She and her colleague were gossiping about the patient in Bed 24, who was living large but couldn’t even afford the medical bills.
I bypassed them and stood in front of Bed 24.
Quincey was watching the news while twirling a strand of hair in her fingers.
When she saw me, she smirked mischievously. “Pierce is with Scarlett now. How do you feel about that? You always said independent women are the most attractive, yet you still couldn’t win over Pierce.”
I turned off the TV and asked her what was so important.
Quincey pulled a small USB drive from under her pillow and casually dangled it.
“This is a video of Ms. Madden’s classes. I can give it to you for free, but you’ll need to help me pay my medical bills.”
She added, “These lessons are worth 500 thousand dollars. You won’t lose out.”
Her serious demeanor made me laugh. She really treated this like it was some top–secret manual.
“What’s so funny? I was just unlucky to run into a psycho like Pierce. Many of Ms. Madden’s students have married rich men. Her methods really work.”
To this day, Quincey still believed in Bianca without question.
I shook my head and asked if she had seen any familiar faces in the private room that day. The three women Eliot kicked out were also Bianca’s students. You even posted a picture with them on Instagram.”

With that, I turned and left the room.

Quincey tried to get out of bed to come after me, but the pain kept her motionless. Her curses echoed as I walked away.
I was still in charge of coordinating with Holden Group at Zenith Media, while Pierce made very few appearances.
I heard he was busy preparing for his wedding with Scarlett.
The wedding was scheduled for two months later, but the media had already started creating hype. They said the heir of the Holden family was going to have the most
luxurious wedding of the century.
Although the police had only detained Selene for half a month, the Holdens had frightened her enough that she and Joshua had fled to her family’s village.
Quincey seemed to have received a large sum of money and returned to her old ways, acting like a socialite on the Internet.
I received Pierce’s wedding invitation well in advance.
On the day of the wedding, I saw Eliot, Franco, and the others from the private room. They arrived with their wives and children, presenting themselves as elegant and kind in front
of the media.
To my surprise, Quincey showed up, too. She didn’t have an invitation and was stopped by security outside the hotel.
“Tell Mr. Wilder I’m Quincey. He’ll take me in.”
Quincey, who usually dressed so innocently, completely changed her style that day. She opted for a more provocative look.
After a while, security returned and told her that Eliot didn’t know her.
Many cameras were aimed at Quincey, and her face flushed with embarrassment.
She then started yelling loudly, “Eliot Wilder, how dare you say you don’t know me? Have you forgotten all the things you’ve done?”
Her shout attracted a crowd.
The reporters asked, “What did Mr. Wilder do?”
Quincey smiled grimly. “If I tell you, he’ll end up in prison.”
Eliot ordered the security to throw her out and said she should be content.
Quincey was ruthlessly shoved outside the red carpet in front of the high–society crowd.

She had probably threatened Eliot with what happened in the private room to get money from him. Now that she had spent it all, she needed to go back and ask for more.
