Suddenly, the phone that Sierra left in the house lit up with a message from an unknown number. Damien’s heart stopped as he read the words:
“Poor little Sierra. Your mate loves me most now. Did you really think getting rid of your pathetic excuse for a wolf would make him stay faithful? Want to know what we did in your bed while you were burning those flowers?”
A photo appeared – his private den, sheets tangled and stained, intimate items scattered carelessly.
Another message followed: “He said your scent made everything more exciting. Should I tell you what he whispered in my ear?”
Damien’s eyes
blazed crimson, fury radiating from him in waves.
“So it was you all along!”
His Alpha power exploded outward, making the room crackle with lethal energy.
Fingers shaking with rage, he typed:
“Emily, I warned you to never contact Sierra! You’ve crossed a line.”
Her laughter came through the phone, high and mocking.
“Oh Sierra, your Damien impression is adorable! You almost had me worried.”
“But really, you should gracefully step aside. After all…” Her voice turned sickly sweet. ” I’m carrying his pup now. Soon he’ll make me his true mate – one worthy of an Alpha King.
“Leave now before he humiliates you publicly. At least pretend you have some dignity left.”
“Though we both know you’ll end up with nothing but shame. Just like that pathetic excuse for a wolf inside you.
Each word dripped with smug triumph.
The line remained silent.
For the first time, unease crept into Emily’s voice.
She pushed it down, continuing her taunts:
“What’s wrong, little Omega? Too devastated to speak? I told you – Damien’s heart belongs to me now. His love for you was just pity.”
Damien’s voice cut through her gloating like an arctic wind.
“Is that so? You dare taunt my mate, you worthless bitch?”
“I’ve been far too lenient, letting you think you had any right to speak to her.”
“Tell me exactly what poison you’ve been feeding Sierra. Every. Single. Word.”
His voice promised violence with each syllable.
Emily’s blood ran cold.
Her hands trembled so badly she nearly dropped the phone.
Wait – she still had leverage. She carried his pup! He wouldn’t dare harm her now.
This thought steadied her voice as she whimpered:
“Damien, please… I didn’t mean any harm. She was so cruel to me, I just defended myself…
“I know I was wrong. Don’t be angry – you’re frightening me.
