Chapter 6
I shouted with full confidence. “Liam, since you’re pushing me to the edge, I’ll give you exactly what you
want!”
The moment my words fell, the once–quiet screen outside the room suddenly lit up with a recording of Blair’s voice in a flirtatious tone.
“Really? You’re so heartless, it’s almost scary!”
All eyes turned to the screen, which began playing footage from Blair’s private office. There she was, wrapped around Liam’s neck. She was sitting on his lap, twisting seductively as she spoke.
“Alright, alright, stop moving. Are you going to take responsibility if things get too heated?
Liam stared at Blair with lust in his eyes.
“If I don’t act heartless toward Mia, how can I save our daughter, Sophia?
“The ICU costs hundreds of thousands a day. Who knows if she can even be saved? Instead of going bankrupt for her and that old hag, I’d rather leave everything for Sophia.
“It’s settled then. Sophia’s body can’t hold on any longer. We can’t wait anymore! This is our only chance. Hurry up and make it happen!”
Blair’s eyes gleamed, and she grinned with excitement.
“Great, Sophia will be saved. Don’t worry, I’ll prepare the brain death report. You go and convince Layla to sign the organ donation form. Without that, we’re screwed. You have to make it happen!”
Liam gripped Blair’s waist tightly. “She’s so out of it, she’ll agree to anything I say. Don’t worry about it!”
As the video played to that point, the room fell into a heavy silence.
Blair’s face turned bright red and she began trembling all over.
Liam’s expression darkened and he was completely speechless.
The reporters were the first to react, immediately turning their cameras away from me and toward Blair and her group.
“Mr. Zimmer, what do you have to say about this video?”
“Dr. Lincoln, this footage shows you colluding with the patient’s family and falsifying a diagnosis. What’s your response?”
Mr. Zimmer tried to maintain his composure as he replied, “Well… we’ll need to conduct a thorough investigation before making any statements.”

He motioned for security to hold back the crowd while he quietly slipped away, not forgetting to glare at Zac on his way out.

Zac leaned over and whispered, “Looks like bringing a tech expert was a smart move. If we hadn’t gotten that footage in time, they would’ve erased it by tonight.”
I gratefully squeezed his hand and then stepped forward, delivering a sharp slap across both Blair’s and Liam’s faces.
“When Mia recovers, I’ll deal with you two scumbags properly.
“Divorce, lawsuits, and prison. You won’t escape any of it!”
With that, Zac waved his hand, and the transfer team quickly began making preparations.
The same nurse who had harshly criticized me earlier came over with tear–filled eyes and apologized.
“I’m so sorry. I misjudged you. I’ll make extra copies of your daughter’s medical records for you. Please make sure she gets better!”
I smiled graciously and accepted the files.
Everything proceeded smoothly. Blair and Liam were too humiliated to stay and disappeared without a word.
Two hours later, Mia was successfully transferred to the best hospital in the state, where she began receiving intensive treatment. Her condition gradually improved.
Finally, I felt the tension leave my body, and I collapsed into my parents‘ arms, crying uncontrollably.
Zac stood silently for a moment before pulling out a flash drive.
“Layla, that footage isn’t all of it.
“I’ll hire the best lawyers to handle the divorce and the medical malpractice lawsuit.
“As for the rest… that’s up to you.”
Taking the flash drive from him, I could not help but remember the day in my past life when I stumbled upon Liam and Blair together at the amusement park.
