“Yvonne! How about this? Since you worked on the plans, I’ll talk to Garreth and ask him to include your name on them. How does that sound?”
I sneered. “That was my work!”
“This is a decision from upper management. After all, you know my identity…”
Bringing up her “identity” again! If my dad heard this, he’d probably want to punch her in the face.
I looked at her fake smile and asked directly, “So, what do you want?”
Tiffany would never so kindly offer to add my name. Sure enough, the next second, she said, “These three plans still need finalizing. How about you write them, and I’ll do the final check? That way, it’ll count as a collaboration.”
She wanted me to write all the plans! I could hear her scheming from a mile away!
I was about to refuse. However, seeing her try so hard to act pitiful, I changed my mind and replied, “Fine. You must promise me to put my name on them…”
Watching Tiffany leave with a barely concealed smile, I thought my current sycophantic
attitude must have fooled her.
I agreed easily, but when I started working on the plans, I realized how difficult it was as much of the data needed verification. No wonder Tiffany wanted to sit back and take the
credit.
In the morning, I went downstairs with shadows under my eyes. I almost fell asleep while having breakfast.
Dad brought me a cup of milk. “What were you doing last night? Why do you look so sleepy?

“Of course, I was writing plans for our company!”
“From what I remember, interns usually only submit an initial draft. As expected of my daughter, always striving for perfection. You sure take after me!”
Hearing his beaming praise, I didn’t hide anything. “Actually, this is one of the colleagues‘ tasks.” I then went on to tell him everything that had happened recently.
After hearing all of it, Dad slammed his cutlery on the table, “This is outrageous! Did we really hire someone so disgraceful? I’ll have HR fire him right now!” He fumed, pulling out his phone.
“Wait!” I stopped Dad. It would be no fun if my identity got exposed now. “I don’t want my sleepless night to be in vain.”
