Chapter 94 Isn’t This a Bit Too Quick to Discard Me?
Graham Foster, the Director of the Architecture Department, and Ethan Clarke, the Project Manager, were in the CEO’s office, giving a report on the progress of the Quinn’s Manor project.
Ethan suddenly received a call from Harris and his expression changed after listened to what he said.
“Mr. Howard, there’s a problem at the construction site.”
Damian looked up, and Graham also turned to Ethan, asking, “What happened?”
Ethan repeated the details from Harris’s call.
“Ms. Spencer and Chief Designer Noel had offered some modification to the design. Harris just sent the updated blueprints to my phone.”
“Ms. Spencer?” Graham repeated.
Whitney was no longer the CEO’s secretary, nor was she officially the CEO’s wife yet, so addressing her by her previous title was the only option.
“Yes, Harris said he bumped into her by chance at the manor.”
Damian reached out and Ethan quickly handed him the phone.
Damian expanded the photo to reveal red–circled areas on the plans, along with neat and clear notes written beside them.
Those delicate and neat handwriting was clearly Whitney’s.
She had met with Noel again.
Silence filled the office. Seeing the CEO’s visibly darkened expression, Graham threw a sharp glance at Ethan, silently questioning why he hadn’t checked the blueprints more thoroughly,
When the project was awarded to the Howard Group, the Architecture Department had divided it into smaller segments.

Ethan had come to Graham, saying that Rachel wanted to be the person in one of the sub- projects.
It was an unusual choice. She was just a junior designer assistant and couldn’t possibly be responsible for a project. But Ethan claimed Rachel had connections to Mr. Howard.
Since it was just one small part of the large project, Graham thought it harmless to let Ethan manage it and do Rachel a favor.
Who could have guessed that his favor would blow up and land right on the CEO’s desk?
“Is this the quality of work from your design team?” Damian tossed the phone onto his desk with a loud thud. Ethan felt a bit distressed, after all, it was a new, pricey phone but he dared not retrieve it.

“Quite generous of you,” Damian said, his cold gaze made Graham keep his head bowed.
“The Quinn invested over billions of dollars to secure development rights, and entrusted the Howard Group with this project. Yet you think it’s fine to play favorites?” Damian said and stood up.
Graham was trembling and unable to speak.
“Very well, if you enjoy handing out favors so much, I’ll send you both to our housing project in Zafira.”
This remark was also directed at Ethan.

Damian grabbed his coat and headed toward the door. The two hurriedly admitted their mistakes, each promising it would never happen again.
He straightened his tie. “This was the perfect opportunity to make an example. I should thank you two for providing it.
There were several people with connections to the Howard family in the company. Some could be dealt with, while others required action. This incident would serve as a reminder to everyone who sought to exploit these relationships.
In the car, Billy asked, “Mr. Howard, where are we going?”
“To Quinn Manor.”
Billy immediately instructed the driver to set off.
“Also, remove Rachel from her role as the project lead. Harris will take over,” Damian added.
After pointing out the issues with the blueprints, they soon received a call. Rachel was immediately removed from her duties, and Harris was appointed as the new lead.
Rachel was dumbfounded.
Even Harris was momentarily stunned.
Whitney hadn’t expected Damian to address the issue so quickly, especially since Rachel was his cherished person.
Realizing that she might be overstepped, she thought it best not to stay any longer and soon left with Noel.
Whitney walked ahead, not looking back or engaging with Noel.
“Isn’t it a bit quick to discard people after they’ve outlined their usefulness? Noel spoke from behind.
Only moments earlier, she had used him to unsettle Rachel, and now he was being ignored as if nothing had happened.
Whitney showed no remorse. “Shifting loyalties, spinelessness, swallowing pride, I am exactly the type of person Chief Designer Noel looks down on. So why bother?”

Noel smirked. Little miss grudge–holder, he thought.
Back at their lodging, Whitney pushed open the door.
“I’m sorry,” Noel suddenly said, making her turn around and puzzled.
“I misunderstood,” he continued.
Whitney was even more confused. “Misunderstood what?”
Noel stared at her for a few seconds but didn’t elaborate. “I heard tonight’s bonfire party is supposed to be good. Since you’re here, enjoy yourself.”
With that, he returned to his room.
Whitney stood in the doorway, bewildered. What exactly had he misunderstood?
Night fell, and a large bonfire blazed in the middle of a vast grassy area. People gathered around, laughing and chatting.
Yvette grabbed Whitney’s arm, looking like she was bursting with gossip.

“Where did you go with Noel this afternoon? I saw you two coming out of the woods together,”
Just as she finished asking, a voice from behind continued her question. “I’d like to know that too. Where did you two go?”
Whitney turned to see Thomas behind them, looking between her and Noel with a mischievous grin.
